I have to say that my problem is not with the customer service in Dubai but with Toyota itself for not acknowledging the issue officially. I have been liaising with the customer services in Dubai who have been doing their best with the information that they are being provided with by Toyota

Is the sound completely clear because with previous software the sound was only marginally better. If truly fixed then finally brilliant news

UPDATE: Toyota sent a team to assess situation. I made a call from my car and they heard for themselves. They have collected data about the problem. They have now gone to Kuwait where they have a similar problem. It appears that this is a problem affecting all cars in Middle East and Europe...

Good to hear. I’m flying into Dubai tomorrow so will get mine checked over. Hope that this all gets sorted out soon.

Hi, yes. So the radio manufacturer is sending out a team to UAE to check out the issue. They are coming in 1-2 weeks

My LC250 GCC specs same with reverse camera. Anyone know if and how to fit dash cam. I had one that was supplied by lighter plug but don’t have one of these in the front of my car (one in rear) and I am keen to avoid lots of wires Thanks

Unfortunately apart of reporting it, there is not much else to do apart of waiting for feedback from Toyota. I initially took it to dealer and after trying the connection on my iPhone, they tried it on their Samsung and had same problem. They took a recording of the sound quality f a phone call...

However…..apart from that, the car is lovely. So once Toyota sorts this out, we would be able to enjoy properly 🙏

Wow…I’m sorry to hear this. Pls let the dealer know and share with him that we are having same issues in UAE and that s/he needs to contact Toyota

What specs is your car? Is it US or Gulf specs?

Thank you Ashish for sharing. I am keeping my contacts in Dubai informed so that they are aware that the issue is affecting several cars and is not an isolated incidence. I will keep you all informed as chasing regularly.

So an update from Toyota: Toyota in Japan have escalated this to the radio unit supplier who is now investigating the issue

Sorry to hear that. So we have a total of 4 new cars and the 2 demo cars so far plus one in Jamaica and another in Costa Rica that I’m aware of! I’m sure that there will be some very embarrassed people in Japan 🙄

Update: Got called by the garage 2 days ago. Apparently Japan was informed of similar issue in another country. Anyway was told that a software update was sent. Went for the update but no change. They took another recording of the sound at different speeds. Does anyone else have a similar...

Thanks Amigo. So took car to dealership and went for a drive with their technician. He confirmed the issue with my iPhone. He then tried with his android phone and same issue arose. So they tested 2 demo cars. One was fine and the other had same issue. So now escalated to engineers in HQ Japan...

Hmmm…I’m 6’3’’ 189cm tall. Looking dead ahead when driving so don’t think it’s a proximity issue. Was borrowing a friend’s Jetour T2 before getting my Prado and had no issues. Like I said someone else had same issue! So not sure
