They may well not. It seems we’re in the early stages yet of hybridization & electrification where Toyota still wants to be sure to let everybody know that their whole lineup consists of hybrids. Once that’s commonplace of not outright expected, there’s no need for a badge.
After all, how...
I could definitely agree. The articles always need to have some kind of a balance of positive vs. negative. The negatives have to be out there, but minimized enough that they’ll keep getting access to press cars, they can’t be so egregious as to get the outlet cut out of that circuit.
They...
That blog is usually a pretty good one, but I don’t always agree with their conclusions in articles, including this one. The main point of his article, like so many others I’ve seen, seems to be it’s not a “real” Land Cruiser. Which isn’t actually accurate looking at the world market, where...
I just have to be the contrarian, but yes I certainly agree with you & love the heritage badging! This is a mod I’d make for sure if I buy an LC. Particularly in the TD color as yours.
The only issue I have with the new Taco is if I’m going to go Toyota, I can choose a 4R or LC instead. The 4R in particular is an SUV Taco. As much of a pickup guy as I am, I realize at my age, I’m more interested in hauling dogs than cargo. Anything I can lift I can fit in an SUV well enough...
Wouldn’t all LC’s have 4WD back then? I’m thinking this isn’t a lot different from a marketing perspective than putting up the iForceMax badge nowadays. But. I will say your badge swap looks awesome & I much prefer it!
I’m just not an aftermarket wheel guy period. I don’t actually mind the bronze with black, the colors are good & so I like seeing it in pics. But I wouldn’t do it to mine, the one I don’t have yet that is.
I have to agree with you. Which I hadn’t thought about that analogy as it applies to cars until you mentioned it. Yet when it came to my own house purchase, this is exactly what I did. Buy the cheapest house in the neighborhood vs. the most expensive one in another. Yet until now I’d not...
I do this too, no matter what car I’m driving. I hate jockeying for position in parking lot traffic just to get the closest available spot by the door. I will judge you too if you block traffic sitting there waiting for somebody to pull out.
I was thinking it should. My Fords are a similar button tap dance, but timing might not be quite as critical. Double click the lock button then push the start. Toyota’s sounds like it would take a bit of practice to get it down.
https://support.toyota.com/s/article/How-do-I-start-the-ve-7424?language=en_US Does the key fob not work for remote start? That would be absolutely a deal breaker here. But I thought the subscription was only if you wanted to use the app.
Safe travels! Thanks for the tip, I didn’t realize or recall that was a thing when sitting in the LC in the showroom. Seems to be a great idea for folks with longer legs.
Agreed, I definitely need to try out the 4R as well. I do have to agree that there’s enough headroom even with the sun/moonroof in the LC. I do wonder if it’s 5” less in overall height, the body itself can’t be 5” shorter could it? That seems like a pretty dramatic difference for 2 related...
I’d take it back to your dealer for that. Port installed or dealer installed, listed on the label or not, if I paid for PPF through them they’d be fixing it for me. Good luck on it!
If you do please let us know! I’m curious too, what would an hdmi port be for? I’m assuming while parked you could plug in a laptop with hdmi out to it & display video.
So if I did this right, a Platinum 4R is $65K USD. A LC premium is $70K. This is the debate I’m having in the premium end of the market. They’re largely the same/similar in price, so effectively removes price from the equation. Then which to go for? If there truly is 5” more headroom in the...
Good to know it works for longer road trips! I haven’t done a road trip in my current car longer than an hour in quite some time. I could & have done 8hr road trips if I have to. My goal is to find a car that can do those 8+hr days, maybe even a couple in a row, without going to a full size...
Thanks for weighing in guys. Honestly space & comfort are probably my top priorities when looking at my next car, so appreciate hearing all experiences.
I plan to check out the 4R for sure before making a final purchase decision. Shopping at the upper end though it appears price won’t be a determining factor, it’ll be more feel & fit. If I read specs right & just the way they look, the LC is taller? That alone would be a winning factor when...
