Not aware of any declared issues. However, Toyota is not going to say anything if undeclared improvements are made to rectify non-recall glitches, especially to the electronics/firmware. Personally, am going for a 2025. Also, would depend on how long one anticipates keeping the vehicle, as a MY...
My question would be, who files a claim with the carrier, Sparksparts, or you? As I recall, it would be the shipper. So, Sparksparts seems to be passing the buck.
Now that is interesting! One would think the vehicle would be charging the 12V battery if needed, and certainly not going into electric-only mode, shutting down the engine.
Regardless if you inadvertently put the truck into park, I would not think this error should occur. This said, I would not be terribly concerned unless it happens again. Be sure to have the dealer document the failure, just in case it reoccurs, and, perish the thought, you have to invoke the...
Unfortunately, the trend is not towards larger engines. Fingers crossed, the 2.4 is proving to be a solid mill. However, definitely not going for the Toyota-recommended 10K oil changes! 2/5/5.... etc.
Welcome starfly! I agonized in regard to the GX550 vs the LC, and as you, finally decided on the LC. And yes, premium fuel and low MPG were key factors. Also, the GX Overtrail does not have three-zone HVAC, which even the 1958 LC provides.
Welcome aboard Lee! I share your analysis of the LC versus the Tacoma and 4Runner. Will be interesting to see how the new 4Runner fares. Never driven a Bronco, and do not anticipate doing so. I wish the Toyota reliability.
Hey James, Jim (James) here. Congrats on your purchase! Hope the LC supasses the 4Runner substantially in regard to fuel economy. Possibly 5 MPG better, or a tad more? However, the LC wants premium fuel, so not sure how much far ahead you will be in the final analysis as far as fuel cost. Keep...
So, the question would be, is the LC transmission manufactured at the same plant as the Taco? For sure, per the window sticker, the LC tranny is made in Japan.
You are not making my day! Our LC is still in the queue, and has been for many months. Long story, but essentially a small dealer is the drawback. On a positive note, will now be a 2025.
Unfortunately, am a sucker for all the Bells & Whistles, even at age 83. Hint: A retired computer tech. :) This said, would rather not have a sunroof, but comes bundled with the Premium package.
Many have reported the roof rack substantially increases wind noise, and of course affects fuel economy a tad. Would it be an issue in some car washes? Not for me...
Wish I had those to put a set of snow/ice tires on! As I have found out, a huge markup across the dealer parts counter. From where did you source them?
