The dealer may say piston slap and it’s no good. I’m wondering if the engine may be designed this way for a reason. If it was actually bad I believe Toyota would come up with a fix.
I’ve the Iceco VL60. I have had this for 3 or 4 years. Me and my father use it for off road trips. We haven’t had any problems out of it. In my opinion it’s worth the price. The iceco uses the same compressor as the ARB.
I didn’t put mine on ramps so I don’t think a 5 gallon bucket will fit. I’ve had a few vehicles with the 0W-20 and never made a mess like this one did. I just wiped it up and used brake cleaner on the garage floor. I am glad Toyota went back to a canister style oil filter.
I did mine today at 1,200 miles. I had plenty of room once I got the skid plates off. This was the messiest oil change I’ve done. The drain plug at an angle made it a challenge. The oil came out hit the drain pan then shot out of pan onto garage floor. I had to position the pan just right so oil...
You also gotta be willing to pay to get those. The buyers want those 3 but in a low cost vehicle. These things will never happen in a low cost vehicle.
I’d rather have something get recalled to be fixed. A vehicle can be out for over 10 years and get a recall. Some manufacturers won’t recall their broken garbage until they are sued like the GM transmissions.
You may be feeling the electric motor engaging and dis-engaging. You could possibly be feeling the gas engine starting up. The transmission does smooth out as you put some miles one.
I mean the engine only idles if parameters aren’t met. This is what I was trying to say. Mine always turns engine off when idling if parameters are met.
It will if the transmission is constantly shifting. I got the one in my 99 lx470 pretty warm one time. I was on a gravel road with a speed right between 2 gears. I just moved my shifter down which solved the problem. The lx470 has a decent sized tranny cooler.
I’ve got an 99 lx470. These have a decent sized tranny cooler. I was going down a gravel road and not going very fast. I could see the tranny temp via scan gauge start to rise. I moved the shifter to a lower gear and that solved the problem.
