Exactly! Don’t forget that TNGA-F is a global platform with multiple other configurations that are not sold here, including provision for a sub sub tank on diesels.
It’s also same platform shared with the Land Cruiser 300 diesel which also has much larger main and sub tanks. I’m not...
I think the American parlance is auxiliary tank but the rest of the world calls it a “sub tank” . I looked around to try and find out what the part number is and what Toyota actually calls it but I’ve had no luck yet. Very curious to see where it actually gets installed. On the LC 300 it sits...
Would love to see if someone comes up with aftermarket exhaust. It seems huge vs. overseas diesels. I'm not sure if its the muffler or muffler + catalytic converter, but man that thing is huge. The 300 series has plenty of room for driveshaft, muffler and TWO fuel tanks between the rails...
Very interesting! Do you have a take yet on those claiming that Toyota's non-hybrid gasoline tanks are fundamentally different than hybrid gasoline tanks and therefore completely non reverse compatible? They point to the warning about the tank being "pressurized" in the manual. However I...
It’s two tanks, main + auxiliary. If it’s like the 300 series it’s on the opposite side of the main. Have not seen good underside photos of 250 diesel, but one photo appeared to show main tank hanging a bit lower.
Also I don’t think the hybrid has much affect on space between frame rails...
I stand corrected! I just did the same. Yes it's way less noticeable at 80 for sure due to all the other wind noise that really gets going above 75. However 65-70 when you fold the mirrors in the noise disappears completely as the mirrors transition and then comes back, but is different pitch...
I’ve removed cross bars and that made a big difference. However now I’m noticing quite a bit of wind noise coming from the driver and passenger windows. The. I thought maybe side mirrors?? I folded them in and bingo 30% + reduction. Has anyone tried adding stick inc vortex generators to the...

This is going off to Blackstone today.
In the last six months, I’ve rented a Porsche, a Mercedes and a Jeep and got a a loaner Lexus. All 4 of them worked exactly as advertised with wireless CarPlay. Paired immediately upon starting and stayed paired throughout the trip. All exact phone and exact iOS that seems to give the Land...
Curious why you feel that way? They seem to only cover about 1/4 of the cargo area and are also mounted low, when you have items stacked above them, they are concealed.
Maybe OK to illuminate three or four grocery bags but not really enough to illuminate the whole cargo area like a simple...
This is exactly how it worked out on my Lexus Gx460 (Prado) with a 3rd row. While the coverage could have been a bit larger, I was very impressed with quality and durability of the Toyota rubber mats. Actually held up much better than the expensive weather tech ones.
I finally took mine in to have the tech look at why CarPlay refused to function correctly. It seems they are well aware of this issue. I was told at the dealer and to “be patient and await an update.” To be frank Toyotas Apple Car play software is total garbage. It has more glitches than...
This is what I was told at the dealer and to “be patient and await an update.” To be frank Toyotas Apple Car play software is total garbage. It has more glitches than features and doesn’t connect more than half the time. It recently totally packed up on me on a 4 hour trip and I drove on in...
If it’s any consolation I think you will be impressed with quality long term. While materials are different, it approaches Lexus in terms of fit and finish. Very well put together and zero rattles of squeaks even on a rough road. Much better build quality so far than my Defender experience.
Anyone have any idea on how to add lights for the cargo area? I don’t know how or why but it appears there is no lighting back there as I recently discovered on a dark and moonless night at the campsite. The only overhead lights are the front console map lights and 2nd row. What the heck Toyota?
