That’s an outrageous response from the dealer, you must take it up with Toyota UK. There’s no way that a main dealer would be allowed to charge over list price.
Supagard is their version of the ceramic coating. I’ve had it before and did order it again this time. It’s not particularly good but they also give the seats and carpets a coat of protection in the relatively low cost - you get what you pay for in life!!
Be warned LC paint is very thin and does...
Dave - This was VW but I’m pretty sure Toyota have on my previous cars. No doubt they will have stopped doing it just to make life more complicated……..
If you add up the car, delivery, reg fee, 1st yr road tax and number plates it comes to £79,995 which is the list price of the FE cars. The paint (and headlights) is the whole point of the FE car so they can’t charge extra for that when the price is already loaded by £5k and the side steps have...
I guess the best thing is to take the complimentary 5 days insurance that they offer with new cars and within that time, I’m sure the Ins Cos databases will have updated.
The whole system is flawed, we rolled over a lease on a little Polo this week and I couldn’t insure it for a few days as...
Been away for a couple of days and there are pages of new posts! Good work on the insurance KevD and others.
On the mats, I assume the set up will be the same as the last one where we had rubber mats for front, second and third row seats. The 3rd row being one narrow piece that ran across the...
I’ve totally giving up being bothered about it and I agree, nobody in the UK has a clue what’s going on. Shameful really and more so when we are paying such a price premium over other markets such as our friends from across the pond.
When I put the first deposit down in Aug last year, I was told...
I think the servicing is really reasonable and way cheaper than Land Rover costs. Also it’s a Land Cruiser so that will be only time it visits the garage…….. well probably!
No won’t be a commercial vehicle or it wouldn’t be £600-ish road tax.
Re the Service Plan I was signed up for that and it was a simple monthly direct debit of circa £28 from memory and when I sold it, they refunded the credit.
Dave - your £1,958 5 year price would be £32.63 per month which...
We definitely will, the last few Invincible models had the cool box and they are great. Really cold and it gets the temp down quickly too. We had a kids drink explode in there and there’s a drain pipe to the underneath of the car - as you’d hope.
Getting close now, Dave’s even more so. Exciting times!
The 2.8L diesel is my only concern as it’s the same as the outgoing model and relative to the new Land Rover equivalent, it’s definitely a bit under-powered and noisy. That said, it’s a tried and tested Toyota engine so is bulletproof and...
That’s ridiculous, you could have a towbar specialist fit one for a fraction of that.
I previously mentioned that my dealer thought it might be £1500 initially but agreed to do it for £800 and that options list posted showed an even lower price.
To be fair, the dealers aren’t being told...
OK some good news……. Looks like my grey Invincible delivery is now 11th December so way better than ‘maybe in January’.
Glad I didn’t rush into getting the black cancelled order one yesterday.
It would nice if they were including the towbar but it’s always been an extra. My dealer didn’t have a price so ‘kindly’ reduced it from their initial £1500 to £800 which still looks high for a fixed version.
Thanks for the option list @KevD
A friend connected to the motor trade called me today with the offer of an Invincible at list price with a November delivery date due to a cancelled order. It’s in black so I’ll stay in the eternal wait line but interesting prospect……..
Yup same tyres as the last two or three LC’s I’ve had as were the illuminated side bars. The roof rack was never an option so they were always going to charge for that and I can’t see it being less than £1,500 which probably brings in a few independent manufacturers into play.
Does anyone have a...
Despite a total lack of communication from the dealer, I got a call late this afternoon and apparently my order placed in August 2023 is now looking like a delivery of January next year……….
I have been loyal to Land Cruisers with 4 consecutive cars over >15 years and was very excited about the...
I’m early 50’s and with Dave on that. The battery will be covered for 10 years (if you service the car per Toyota) but as that time approaches, the value of the car must be affected.
Maybe my biggest concern is the space the battery takes and that’s a common complaint from our friends across the...
Good luck and please let us know what Toyota UK say.
Does anyone have a number for them? I’ve only been able to do email contact and couldn’t see the number on the website. Thanks.
Hi Streffie, I had the same but when I asked for the two deposits back, they found another order which they say is due in November.
I don’t think anyone knows what’s going on so I suspect there will be more disappointment to follow…………
Am I the only one getting an Invincible in this chat? Given they are now suggesting mid-November, that trim car is obviously on a different ship which I guess makes sense - the hint is in the name! ‘FE’ 😄
Called the dealer yesterday. Spoke to a colleague of my salesman who looked up the delivery date and was very vague saying it might be something like 15th November.
Didn’t get called back for 2nd time, they have my £5.5k and aren’t interested to talk to me…….
Sounds like you guys are nearly...
Hi Dave, they have confirmed that have they? Nothing from mine, just an estimated delivery date of 26th Sept hidden in the FAQ’s of the WelcomeHub page so I have little hope of that happening.
