The thing that appeals to me about ice cap regarding wearing over time, is that I'll be off road on a weekly basis, often in places where branches can scratch the side of the vehicle. Flat white would be easier to repair or even touch up, without the metallic layer.
I'm with you on the basic white being better, and I like to see the trend of more flat paint color options. But I went with wind chill because of all the issues with ice cap. Doing a google search there are people as recent as march of this year posting about ice cap white chipping and peeling...
I'm more concerned about the turbo lag comment. I had car that did that and it was annoying to step on it (passing someone etc) and nothing happens, then all the sudden it jumps. Wonder if people who have taken delivery experienced the same.
I saw his video, I wish it would have included clearance measurement. If you can bolt on 17s but it's less than 5mm clearance I will probably stick to 18s.
In all seriousness, I've gone back and forth too. Today I'm preferring the round, might try to do a swap with someone. But I'll see once I actually have it!
In case you didn't see it @Rk1679 there's a pic of Open Country 285s (diameter 33.7") in a wheel upgrade thread, mounted on an FE. Wish it was a better angle for the back of the front wheel well, seems like that is the smallest clearance spot from wmah523's test. Wheel upgrades
Iβm currently deciding between the Wildpeaks and Open Country. I live in the PNW and read too many bad reviews about KO2 performance on wet roads, not sure if KO3 improved this. The weight is one factor for me, the Wildpeaks come in heavier for the sizes Iβm looking at.
Have we met? Pavement princess?! And if you want prices posted, go for it. I'm just posting the info I wanted, in case other people find it helpful. If you don't, then just move on.
This is a good point. So with too much time on my hands to obsess about my LC arriving, I created a comparison sheet for tires I'm looking at with specs that include the actual diameter and rim width requirement. Sharing in case others find it helpful.
Same, don't want to do any lift (maybe leveling kit if needed) but would like bigger. I've seen others get 275/70s and say they wish they'd gone bigger, but clearly 295/70s won't work per wmah523's test. Hope 285s will be a sweet spot π€
