Land Cruiser 250 Diesel Hybrid
2024/25 LC Prado will be launched Diesel w mild hybrid here down under. I placed my order before dealers here get the first demo days ago in New Zealand.

Last week, the first demo finally here. Test drive was fine. The biggest question now is the elevated platform levelled up by the 3rd row seats and a plastic storage box behind. This will eliminate some possibility for boot modifications and makes shopping a bit difficult especially for ladies.

I want to know your thoughts about this setup as I wish to own an LC for long.

Gary

That's an interesting approach. Must be a smaller battery than the US spec one? Are the seats removable?

Toyota people here said those seats shall not be removed as battery and cables beneath it. Surely it will void warranty…

By specs it is smaller, with zero impact on power & torque output. It helps diesel engines stop-start and likely low rev, the motor doesn’t move the car alone.

Here's what's beneath the US version, rear platform (Top of the traction battery cover/shield).
