Real World mpg

Alright now we are getting somewhere. Made a 300 mile road trip today. Used eco and still had plenty of power for passing. Used the adaptive cruise control and the steering system and it worked great. Slowed down when approaching a car speed up as soon as switched lanes and there was nothing in the distance window. Steering through bends was flawless though slightly jerky.
Sorry rambled a little- so averaged 21.9 mpg at a cruise speed of 81 mph. This was hitting some of the hills in nw AR. Currently (with trip under belt) at 400 miles on the odo.

Last month I took a 2K round trip from SoCal to Oregon in my FE towing my motorcyle on a trailer, roughly 1500lb total weight. Tire size is 33" 265/70R18. I averaged 15 mpg. Not complaining about that so much as how often I had to fill up. The ride itself was great and towing the trailer wasn't even noticeable. MPG isn't very good even when I'm not towing. I think the tire size is the main culprit.

When I first read about the 18Gal tank; my reaction was a kind of no no no, it's a typo. It must be 28Gal tank. And it would make sense, since the LC is a kind of overlanding, exploring vehicle. Nope, it's a 17.9 Gal tank.
I figured you had an engineering background when you sent me that response. I sit in the pointy end of a plane for a living and am aware of parasitic drag and how it increases. Either way, love the car and I would never expect good efficiency at 80mph. Just a report for those wondering.As an unused Aerospace Engineering degree holder, I appreciate the endorsement.

264 miles and 13.05 gallons to refill the tank.
We have 1800 miles on our 1958 now with 265/65-18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. We have been averaging around 24 mpg from right off the rip. Did a 300 mile trip yesterday from Aiken, SC to Atlanta and back with about 50/50 mix of 55 mph back roads and 70+ mph interstate and ended at exactly 24 mpg on the screen. This tank is on 287 mi with 80 mi left so hypothetical 367 mi range at 24 mpg.
Hand calculations end up right at the computer give or take a few tenths. Speedo now only reads 1-2 mph faster than actual GPS, even with the slightly bigger tires.
Our driving tends to be good for MPG.....for example my wife's TRD Pro 4Runner averages right at 20 mpg, and our 23' TRD Pro Tundra would get 19-20 mpg even with nearly 35" tires on it. Nice to live out in the country for mpg, and longer commutes with very little traffic helps.

This seems lower than I’d expect. What type of driving do you do? Are your tires factory size?
Put a total of 283 miles on truck. Eco mode reset at 1 mile, 22.7 according to dash board. Dealership put 87 octane in.

I have wildpeak at4 265/70/18 .
That was around town and highway. It is new and my tundra was same way it took several thousand miles for it to break in and get best fuel mileage .
My driving style is 70-80 on highway and normal around town . My Tundra started out at 13-15 mph but after 5k miles it was 17-18.5 so expect the LC cruiser to get better with miles . I run Eco mode always , unless towing
Well without spending too much time really tracking things or resetting the trips after fueling up, essentially just getting in and driving it like I normally do and enjoying it very much I have noticed the following up to this point. Keeping in mind that the roads where I live are far from flat, constantly changing in elevation, I do always try to let off gas when on a down hill to help the range go up as much as I can, I will say that I’m very low at only 16.2 mph using premium fuel and my trucks now got a bit over 2300 or so miles as of today. I’m on Nitto Ridge Grapplers so that also may have an impact on the mpg.
This includes mostly local roads, some highway and a few Offroad trips around the blue ridge mountain area. I am definitely looking forward to the day this thing gets 20+mpg

Took a road trip to the coast to escape 111 degree weather. About 250 round trip with some elevation changes. AC was working hard. 1958 with no roof rack on stock tires (I don't even remember what they are, they're going to be replaced, but at least until then I can enjoy MPG like this...)
