👋 Welcome to the new Land Cruiser Forum - Please post an introduction thread!

Welcome to the forum, guys! It's lovely to see many seasoned Toyota owners picking up the new Land Cruiser and joining the discussion.

Been watching for a bit…lots of great knowledge here and I hope I can continue to learn and help educate others too. Figured I was remiss not to join and share! I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and do most of my trips up to California Gold Country and the Reno/Tahoe area, but spent lots of time in the past on Colorado on San Juan Mountain “Jeep” trails.

I got my Meteor Shower FE on May 25…just before the QC Hold so I have been driving it for just over a month now. I had a Meteor Shower LC LC with Premium reserved that arrived at the port of Portland on May 7. When it hadn’t shipped to my dealer after two weeks, I knew I had to make a move to get an LC before my trip to a mine north of Reno the first week of June, so I jumped on an FE in Southern California as soon as I found one available. Glad I did, after driving. It home, one week later I was up to Tahoe and then disconnected the sway bar, dropped it into 4 Lo and hit the road to the mine (see pictures). 3 trips up and down the mountain to the mine later, the LC is all I wanted in an SUV and more. Love it!

Ask away if you have questions…happy to share what I know.

Welcome! Good to see more people from the Bay Area on this thread. Would love to know of any other trails you'd recommend in the area?

Don’t know any trails specifically. I am more of an “enjoy the trails on the way to the destination” driver. Usually driving to mines or fishing spots (thus the McCloud handle). Mainly trying to avoid stupid stuff like the attached photo when I want to take “shortcuts” like the one I tried to take between Malakoff Diggings and Alleghany (through the canyon of the Middle
Fork Yuba)! I can’t help myself…and this time it was a flat, a flat spare and 7 miles of off road and 3 miles paved on a flat spare to get a tow. Yes, I was stupid…already know that. I deserve any and all crap thrown my way!

Basically I got the car to hit any and all roads on the way to my destination and get decent fuel economy in between. So far the LC has hit solidly on all marks.

Not trying to make fun or offend........... For the price of that tow, you could've purchased a portable air compressor.

No offense taken…I learned my lesson the hard way. Luckily the tow was covered by insurance…and I always travel with an air compressor and full size spare these days!

And ensure my tires have enough tread depth to handle the razor sharp slate in the Sierra Nevada foothills!

There was a thread a while back about too much air in the spare tire...... I always keep my spare at 50 lbs. My reasoning...... you can always let some out, and a spare normally doesn't get any attention until you need to put it on, they do leak air over time and again a lot easier to put it on and let some out, than messing with an air compressor when you're already pissed at the flat.

Living in flyover country, supposed to receive my blue LC this month. With a voodoo blue 4runner it will be 2 blues and 2 greens in the garage with 2 lunar rocks (Tundra & Sequoia).

I put down a deposit on a 1958 edition back in January. It arrived on July 3 here in central Texas. I haven't owned a Land Cruiser since I sold my FJ62 in 2002 when our family outgrew seating for five. The new one is in Ice Cap, and I'm very happy with it so far. With the white exterior, black trim, and black interior, my daughters thought it reminded them of a panda. I also have a 2007 Dodge Sprinter that I love dearly. It's a diesel V6 with 370,000 miles, and still going strong. Other vehicles include a couple of motorcycles and bicycles. On my wish list is a bigger garage or full workshop. I enjoy doing as much of the service and repair of these as I can, but admit the complexity of the hybrid system will be a steep learning curve. Maybe I'll have to stick to doing nothing more than oil changes, air filters, and spark plugs.

Got our 1958 about a month ago and just joining the forum officially. Have about 1500 mi on it now and definitely enjoying it. Coming from a long line of fun cars including a previous LC (21' Heritage Edition in silver) which the wife loved.

Friends joke that I have turned into a little of a Toyota fan boy over the last 10 years but really have had good luck with resale and reliability and our local dealer has been great at getting us some of the harder to find models at MSRP. Some recent Toyotas include 19' TRD Pro Tacoma (manual), 20' Supra, 21' TRD Pro Tundra, 22' RAV4 Prime, 21' HE LC, 23' GR86 (track day prep), 23' Prius, 23' TRD Pro Tundra, 23' TRD Pro 4R and a 24' GR Corolla. Also a big sports car and track day guy so lots of cars other than Toyota over the years so not JUST coming from Toyota cool-aid perspective and have tried a few Porsche, Chevy, Ford, Acura and Mazda fun cars over the years.

Will be fun to see how the LC new platform does as we rack up miles and maybe a little comparisons to other models I have had for perspective. Have 265/65-18 RIdge Grapplers on it (small-ish size so speedometer is now correct and still 24 mpg average) and just some light off roading so far. So far I am pleasantly surprised with the 4cyl turbo hybrid and 8 speed combo, especially compared to the 5th gen TRD Pro 4runner that we also share for daily driving duties. The torque of the new platform is just hard to explain when anyone hears "4 cylinder" so I have had to make a few friends drive it to stop with the "Its only a 4 cylinder?" stuff.

Hello new member here. I have a 24 white LC "base" trim, '99 100 series LC and a 98 Limited 4 runner.

My new LC is pretty much going to be a pavement princess used for road trips and work purposes, at least in its early life.

My wife currently daily drives the 100 series and the 4 Runner is just used sparingly as needed. It's got a lot of mods on it.

New member here, have a ‘97 LC and an ‘81 FJ43, looking to add a 1958 model. But will be patient and can wait until the dealership price gauging comes down. Thinking a white one that could be wrapped in the same mustard yellow of my 43.
For now, looking to learn as much as I can from other owners and their experience

Hello guys!
Just got a LC - LC edition. Underground color with brown seats.
My dream car!!
A bit confused with all the features and technology that don’t understand.
Trying to find out if I can turn off the auto off engine function while stopped.
The suv fills great.
Still getting use to the hybrid.
Also, just purchased a set of 218/70r18 Nitto Ridge Grappler and a set of Fuel Convert rims 18”x 9” with +20mm offset.
Hoping it will fit without leveling kit

Just signed up to forum. I’ve been following for a couple weeks. Interesting today was deliver day.. all was well until freight arrived. Vehicle was peeled by over crossing on trip.. now in delay mode again!
