๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to the new Land Cruiser Forum - Please post an introduction thread!

Howdy! This forum was a great resource for research related to parts and user testimonials leading up to the arrival of my โ€˜25 LC. Iโ€™ve had mine for 4 weeks now and am loving it for its clean look, functionality and modern features (Iโ€™m coming from an โ€˜06 4Runner that was very reliable for the 15 years I drove it and surely will continue to be for its third owner as well).

Great to have the focused forum for this new model. Thank you to those who put this together and keep it running! Look forward to sharing the journey here!

Greetings, everyone. This site was a great resource for me as I moved into Land Cruiser land for the first time. Thanks to all who post, respond, and inform. I appreciate the perspective.

My name is Tom (Gator) and I am new to the site. I love my 2024 LC and have enjoyed driving it. I have 6k miles on it and just noticed the fuel requirement. I traded a 2019 4 Runner and it used 87 octane. I assumed (should not do that) that the LC would use the same fuel. I now realize the mistake and will begin using the 91-93 octane. It has been running just fine on the 87 with no knocking or apparent issues with fuel economy or power. I only hope I have not done any damage. I wish the dealership had mentioned this when I purchased the vehicle. Any thoughts are appreciated. Glad to be a member.
Thanks

Hi all,

I just got my 1958 a few days ago. This is my first body-on-frame vehicle and a proper SUV. Needed a second car with company's increasing return-to-office days and got a good enough deal so I finally pulled the trigger (been monitoring the market for 5-6months).

I have been pleasantly surprised by the truck's amenities. Was expecting a work truck (which it is for me) but it turns out to be decently luxurious. Ok not as luxurious as the European cars/trucks but it's refined enough for me to consider it nice. Things like the garage opener, roof vents (including ones for the missing 3rd row), heated steering/seats, better than expected sound system (though some might disagree), and decently refined ride (even with overinflated tires by the dealer). I used to own some European sedans so I know what the 1958 is missing but it's really not much.

I'd likely to keep it barebones for a while (it's a commuting truck) and keep it low key but yeah me being cheap plays a part on the decision too.

After exploring forest roads in my VW Atlas since 2021, Got the 2024 LC 1958 and hoping to create more memories with my teen/pre-teen kids before they leave for college.

Greetings from North Idaho.
New to the Land Cruiser community but have had several Toyota trucks. 2005 tundra with the 4.7 loved that truck but turned in because of lease expired. Then my company bought me a 2008 tundra w/ 5.7 liked the newer size but missed how smoothly the 4.7 ran.

Then I got 2 f150โ€™s with the 3.5 eco boost first one was replaced by Ford under the Lemon Law. Never again with fordโ€ฆ

I retired a few years ago and my company let me keep my last truck a 2018 Ram with the cummins 6.7. I just turned over 125k and has been bulletproof, just the radio and brake sensor both replaced under warranty/ recall. Iโ€™m going to keep it for towing the 5th wheel and boat.

Now the fun stuff. Iโ€™m looking at 2 different LC LC both with PP one has 20โ€ wheels not my favorite but it has the sway bar disconnect. The other one has 18s but no swaybar disconnect it also has the premium package price difference is about 2K because of some other features on the 18 inch truck. Iโ€™m torn on what to do because I can always change out the wheels, but I donโ€™t think I can add a sway bar disconnect. Both colors are fine. One is white and the other one is underground.

Get the disconnects , like you said easier to replace wheels

Just put a 1k deposit on the LC with the SBD and 20โ€ seams like an odd combo but it is what it isโ€ฆ. The dealers parts guy said they have plenty of 18โ€ take offs for $400 per set rims only. Not sure if they are tacoma, forerunner, or Land Cruiser but would be a great option, plus I could use the 20โ€ for snow tires with studs lots of icy days up here. or just keep them if I ever sell it. Scheduled to pick it up Sunday.

Welcome to the asylum Kat. Enjoy the kids before they venture out. They are never the same when they return home.

Welcome to the asylum cqb556.

The best tires I ever had while I lived in Idaho were Michelin Ice 2โ€™s. Nothing can/will compare.
