Newbie LC owner here. Took delivery a few hours ago and now looking at options for windshield protection. Any suggestions?

XPEL windshield protection film is the only thing that I recently heard about. Diamond fusion is another but it’s supposed to repeal water, bugs, and make the windshield stronger to help resist damage. Otherwise PRAY!!

As mentioned previously, XPEL provides windshield protection film that not only provides some resistance to chips, cracks, etc. but also provides UV protection for the dash area of the vehicle.

I just verified with my insurance broker that my Allstate comprehensive insurance covers windshield damage. I will only pay the deductible. Hope there is no major drawback to choosing that option in my protection options. I also plan to install a windshield protection film.
Take a look at Exoshield. It's not bullet proof, but does help protect against some of the smaller chips. They also offer a warranty.
No matter what the vendor/installer said, a film is a film, there are hard physical barriers it can not protect your windshield from. I plan to do that somewhat, even with a protective film.
When I got my tint installed, I asked the owner of the shop about windshield protection films. He recommended against and said I'd be better served spending the money upgrading my insurance policy to a zero/low deductible WS replacement. Bear in mind this would have been predictable subscription money in his pocket... The reason he gave is that none of the available films last more than 1.5-2 years in that application. He said They harden, get scratched, lose clarity and need to be replaced frequently.

2024 LC, LC+PremiumPkg - bought mid-August, so ~3 months old and 5500 miles in so far. Chipped my windshield the other weekend, be careful w/insurance - you can file endless glass claims but your annual premium will increase... thats what Progressive told me (I live in California, though)
Does XPEL work w/tint? My windows were tinted at a spot in Costa Mesa, he said if I ever needed it replaced it was covered (accidents, broken windows, cops w/fix-it-tickets, etc).. so I'll have them UV protected/tinted, but does that work w/XPEL or do I need to go the clear cover route?

I'm probably a chump, but I ended up buying the 7 year windshield protection package from the dealer. It was $1400, but they went down to $1000. More than insurance deductible, but will hopefully keep my insurance from creeping up.
I have had a chip in almost every vehicle I ever owned - until the last one. Being retired and not needing to get places in a hurry like I thought I had to in my younger years, using the dynamic cruise control and using the setting to stay the farthermost back from the vehicle in front of me left my windshield pristine. I have had to curb my temper as following that far behind leaves an opening for everyone and their dog to jump ahead of me but I was amazed at the difference in windshield protection. Just my experience and 2 cents worth.
When I took delivery of my LC LC+ the dealer (I had to go to Wyoming to get the Heritage Blue) offered me a windshield treatment from ECKBond with a windshield replacement warranty through National Auto Care. While I'm usually not an extended warranty guy, this was a no brainer at $600 (after negotiations) and I've already claimed my first new OEM windshield installed and calibrated by Safelite at absolutely no cost. Get this deal if you can if you've not yet bought your new Land Cruiser-

Glendale Toyota quoted me $1k for the windshield and like $950 for the labor
