1958, Bronco Sasquatch
Purchased a 1958 on July 4th and sold my Sasquatch Bronco. To me, they are different vehicles. The Bronco was more off-road capable, more powerful, better gearing, but the 1958 was smoother and much quieter and better for road trips. If I could swing keeping both, I would have.

First order of business was to upgrade wheels and tires. I went with method 703s in titanium with +35 offset on Toyo at3s in 285/75/17. Tires did not rub on factory suspension.

I knew I wanted a mild lift but the options were very limited. First to the market with a real coilover was Radflo. I've had previous experience with Kings, icon and fox but not Radflo, but have heard positive feedback from the Toyota community. I went with the Radflo 2.5 diameter shocks without reservoirs or adjusters as I felt that would be overkill for the purpose of the land cruiser.

I started with a 600 lb coil and had some issues with them rattling, so radflo suggested going with a 550 lb coil which solved the problem. The ride is very comfortable with the rear feeling a tad soft. Brake dive and lean was drastically improved.

Next up was some protection. I went with the Toyota engine and transmission skids and Greenlane aluminum sliders with angle to keep the weight down. Overall satisfied with both but have yet to have them truly tested.

I noticed that the stance was level and wanted to slightly raise the rear to gain more clearance and compensate when fully loaded. I purchased a 1 inch spacer from peak suspension. This still allows me to fit the land cruiser in the garage with about an inch to spare.
Overall pretty satisfied with it and believe I've finished with most of the upgrades. I've driven to Colorado and monument valley from California and looking forward to more trips.

Checking in to see how you feel about letting go of the Bronco after some time and miles now …
 
Honestly, after being past the honeymoon phase with the land cruiser, I probably should have kept the Bronco. I don't think the extra $20k to get into the land cruiser was worth it. Yes, the quality of the LC is a bit better and is quieter inside the cabin, but the Bronco had more power, more fun to drive and is more off road capable. I had 0 problems with the Bronco after 2 years of owning it, maybe I was one of the lucky ones

100% you are the lucky one. I had a 22 Wildtrack, engine misfire at 57K miles, May24th. Dealer changed injectors, spark plugs, and other parts, had diagnostic tests for over 6 months. Ford didn’t provide me loaner during the 6-months-repairs. I accepted their buyback in September24th and my Bronco was under drivetrain warranty. It was the most disgusting/ disappointed experience in my whole life. I put 20k mods on my Bronco, and I loved that car. Ford didn’t want to change the engine until they spent 6 months doing diagnostic tests. I had way more experience and way more understanding than you regarding Bronco (cross country from California-Maine ). You should appreciate your Bronco’s liability.No matter how good looking the factory Sasquatch Bronco is, ford’s quality control is piece of crap. Toyota is the right way to go.
