I’m going to be doing a lot of snow driving this winter (if nature is kind to New England). And I’m a believer in dedicated snow tires. I’ve had a set for each of my previous cars that at put on in the late fall and use all winter.

I have the OEM 20” wheels on my LC LC. I want a second set of wheels so I can swap out quickly and efficiently (even by myself).

What do you think is the best approach?

1) Buy a used or new set of OEM wheels, and put 20” snow tires on them?

2) But a used or new set of wheels for 18’s (assuming a different wheel size) from TireRack and put a set of 18” snow tires on them?

Saw a thread here on so-called “replica” wheels. I’ve gotten several sets of wheels from TireRack over the years (BBS, OZ) and have had excellent results.

If anyone is within 150 miles of NYC and is selling their wheels, would certainly consider. Thanks!

Personally I like the look of the stock 18” wheel from the FE or lc/lc. I haven’t seen any aftermarket wheels that look better. If you have a set of snow tires you’re looking at check to see which sizes are offered in each 18” or 20”.

Quite a few folks sell their factory wheels, I bought a set of 18’s w TPMS very cheap and then threw on a good snow tire. The vehicle is set up to hold two sets of codes so once programmed in, easy switches between seasons.
