Things Toyota forgot about

I wonder if they're trained to over-inflate like that... I know when I took delivery of my 1958, my tires were all inflated to around 38 psi.
When I took delivery of Miss Daisy, her Michelins were inflated close to 50 PSI.

EDIT: I wonder if all of the complaints on this forum have made their way back to the mothership, and it sent out word to over inflate tires to try and make the trucks get better fuel economy.

I just crossed the 6K threshold and these are a few these I think Toyota forgot about in an 80K SUV.......

None of the knobs were gold plated.
There isn't an air replacement for the tires included at the 5K service.
A hot towel dispenser included.
No hand stitched leather floormats.
The lack of self-inflating tires.
Air suspension seats do not work in mine!
The fact that you actually have to use the steering wheel to drive.

Hopefully anyone who reads this realizes it's totally satire but man it's getting old reading about what's wrong with the LC and how it compares to this and that make of vehicle. In reality I would only truly like my LC more......... if it were free.

Here's to everyone who reads this, having a better day tomorrow than they did today!
Always appreciate your posts! And I agree, amidst all the nit picking I’m having a hard time finding things to genuinely dislike about it. Yes, I’d love a 30gal tank - but it’s yet to leave me stranded and I’m beginning to get used to the 2gal sense of security at 0 MTE (šŸ˜‚). I’ve had it out in the backcountry for days on end and more recently to/from the ski pass on the regular, and it’s been fantastic.

Looking forward to putting an ARB onthe front to protect all the tech - and here’s to hoping for LC fun for many years to come!

Hahaha I’m with you sir! I see posts constantly regarding all these little hiccups and things they wish were different. I have had ZERO issues with mine, knock on wood, and obviously aside from my own F-ups, it’s been great, and I just hit 15,000m so maybe I just got lucky, or people need to relax a little!

Owners love them. They are selling like crazy. But some Youtubers have some thoughts so we should listen to them? Nah....just got out of my 1st Edition and already trying to think of something, anything I can go and do to drive it again.

edit: Only gripe I have is I wish there was a good spot for sunglasses. Only change I'd make so far.

this is me every day, trying to come up with an arbitrary reason to just go for a drive!

i hate when i get home because the adventure is over, but the only joy i get there is the look back at the LC before i go into the front door!

Couldn't agree more. I do have a few nitpicking "design" things like the sun visor that is nearly useless when swung over to the side and the ridiculous dashcam placement. Other than that and the infamous MPG discrepancy, I'm very happy with mine.

When I was in my car search stage I thought the LC was over priced. Then I test drove close to 10 vehicles…and I admit I was wrong. It was the only one I kept going back to and ended up buying one. My favorite comments are when ppl compare it to the Bronco. That it’s cheaper and interior is way better. Have any of these ppl had a Ford of any kind? I loved my Mustang…but my god Fords quality control is garbage lol.

Consider yourself lucky.

I just had the free 5K service, while traveling, and the idiot kid over inflated Miss Daisy’s Michelins, from 33 to 36+ PSI, among other things.

(I will do a write up of the service fiasco in Miss Daisy’s thread later. I am still too steamed about the negligent and crappy service that I got in Ocala, Fla, to write about it.)
That was your first mistake, most, if not all Toyota dealers in Florida absolutely suck. DeLuca Toyota of Ocala used to be ok, but after Frank DeLuca retired and sold the business to Gettle, it went down hill fast

In fact, I have not had a good experience with any Toyota dealership in the State, personally I think it has to do with Southeastern Toyota Distributorship (Jim Moran), essentially, the middle man to the middle man, but I cannot prove that.

The Toyota stores in my area of Florida are all atrociously bad, I have had service issues, sales issues and a neighbor had them forget to refill the oil after an oil change, he drove it, the engine threw a rod and the dealership tried to say it was negligence on my neighbor's part.

My point Florida Toyota stores aren't great.

In that stage now. The LC seems to be 5-10K more than the 4R which itself is 5-10K more than other 3 row ā€˜family’ crossovers (something I don’t need, but nobody will sell you a decent sized 2 row car hardly). I think though the purchase cost will return to you in 1 of 2 ways:
1. When you drive the LC for 15 years & it doesn’t need anything beyond normal maintenance.
2. If you resell it as quickly as you’d resell a different car nothing seems to hold value like a Toyota. You can drive it for quite a few years & miles while seemingly getting what you paid for it almost.

The LC is a perfect package for 51k which is what is paid for plus TTL. This drive terrain does not belong to 60-70k car. Period. It should have had the v6 hybrid from tundra. At the end of the day this is the same underpinning as the 4Runner plus AWD so to expect anything different is not realistic
I love my LC and would buy it over again over all other Jeep and Bronco competition in 50k price range but the value is dimished as you move up to higher trims.
Bronco raptor is a far more sophisticated truck that can be had in low 70s brandnew
Same with f150 raptor / trx and defender. I have had them all over the past few years and I consider all gen2/3 raptors a much better value in addition to being a better driving experience both on and offroad . But again at 51k paid for the LC I would certainly take it over my previous Bronco badlands .
In terms of complains on the hybrid system and gas mileage I do share some of the same sentiments. In terms of economy this is no better than my Bronco badlands when it was on 33s in city and in terms of power it again is in the same category of that truck which had a 2.3 4cyl. In my opinion this hybrid terrain is certainly flawed in its hybrid operation. The engine doesn’t shut off going down steep declines, the motor cuts off way earlier than it should accelerating slowly from stoplight which would have done wonders for city mpg and I don’t see the regen charging the battery on the 1.5 decline from my house to the Main Street. My brother has a Kia carnival with the same motor setup sandwich between the engine and the transmission and it operates perfectly as expected even with a smaller battery. It almost sounds like Toyota is purposely holding the hybrid performance back to limit the battery cycles to get more life. Lastly you can’t argue that city mpg numbers are falsely advertised by Toyota as none of the car magazines have been able to get better than 18 in the city. Do I care about gas mileage ? Not necessarily . My trx averaged 10, Bronco raptor on 37 was ~14 but I knew that going in.

Nice. You read my mind and I couldn’t agree more. We absolutely love ours and couldn’t be happier. It’s one incredible vehicle. Love it.
