If I understand your question correctly, I don't think that would be worth the effort. The amount of 'extra' protection would be negligible, and layering would only decrease ground clearance (although probably not by a large amount, admittedly). The upgraded skid is decently tough itself, and if you need more protection than that, I'd go with a thicker skid instead.Thanks for posting this!!
Random (and possibly dumb) question:
If one were to purchase the upgraded transmission skid plate, since the weight of the original plastic transmission cover is relatively negligible, would it make any sense to try and layer (sandwich) both skids together for a bit of added protection?
