Sherpa Atlas Roof Rack for the LC250

So the other idea is , the factory rails, which are very strong and really look great.
Yakima 50" rails of your choice, you can mount anything to them you like.
The mounts that connect to the factory roof rails are excellent. Have both to try.

The other idea I have up there now is the factory cross rails, super strong, classy and very well made, you need a third to shorten the distance between for again, mounting anything you like. 2 in the factory position, one in the middle make a prefect set up.
Will try to do a posting with pictures once its all worked out with Rotopaks and traction boards, which is all i want up on the roof.
I am trying to retain as much of the classy really nice sophisticated look for a couple more years at least.
More later.

We have been exploring the idea of doing a half rack for this platform, we offer them for some 4Runner models but they are not a very popular option.

One of the nice things about the modularity of our system is the sunroof is still fully functional regardless of crossbar placement and crossbars can be moved so you don't have any major obstruction to your sunroof if desired.
IF you do a half rack, you will have my money as soon as I’m notified..

I installed the Atlas this weekend. I have zero obstruction of the moonroof and my view inside, if I dont put a cross bar up there. I can hardly see the roof rack from inside the truck through the moonroof either.

Update 3/18: pushed the rack Back to its furthest position which was really only about an extra inch… and the wind noise is better and my mpg is around 23.5ish on hwy (about 1mpg less than before rack)

Also posting a pic of the mounting spots

I'm a huge fan of Shepa's products! Had their Crestone rack and side panels on my 4Runner and got their full use with not one issue! On the LC250, I just mounted a roof top tent and awning on there. Today, a RinseKit and shower awning will be mounted on the other side. I appreciate the little nameplate on this rack, something that they didn't include on the older model racks.

Similarly, I appreciate that they didn’t permanently affix the nameplate, as I preferred it without. Glad they give the choice!

Hows the wind noise with the rack - been thinging about one but wanted to not add any additional noise.

Could you provide some more photos of your rig? Been wondering what the Sherpa rack looks like on the Blue w/ Grayscale combo!

I had the full rack on my 4Runner and really liked it coupled with my Roam gear box. Now I’m wondering if I can use the same attachment parts to connect my Roam box to the existing Land Cruiser roof rack? If not, will you be making those parts? Thanks.
Yes, the case mounts you had on your old rack will work great on our LC rack!

I hope some of our customers chime in with their experience, but the wind noise is very minimal. We have worked hard to reduce the rack's impact on the driver experience and the vehicle's economy. We also have a lot of adjustability in the rack to help reduce any noise if it is present.

I have the half-fairing because I’m planning to add a light bar. I imagine wind noise would be worsened with the half-fairing, because without the light bar it’s deflecting the wind straight into the cross bars. None-the-less, I have almost zero wind noise from the rack at highway speeds.

The cargo box I sometimes mount, on the other hand, is quite loud.

I have wind noise :/. Its heavier wind sounds and nothing whistley or high pitched, when driving 60-75mph. Also its been somewhat windy here this week.

But i also think my fairing is up a little too high and the whole rack needs to be pushed back a bit. The front corners of the fairing/siderails are over-hanging the windshield a bit so I'm hoping if I address both these adjustment, the wind will die down.

I also have been getting the 23-25 mpg prior to rack install. Seems ive taken a hit but i cant quite be certain how much. Maybe 2-3mpg. Again hoping adjustments will help here. (Ive only driven ~100 miles since installing the rack on 3/10)

BTW the rack is awesome. Quality is top notch. Never had one before but this seems super durable and reliable.

Would like to see this! I have a rooftop tent and am wondering if 3 crossbars on the factory rails will be strong enough.
