Were you able to buy the rails new? Are you noticing additional wind noise or changes in MPG?

No, I snagged the rails from a forum members. I was checked out the Chinese knockoffs that are flooding ebay and Amazon right now, but there were too many horror stories of the Tacoma equivalents not fitting right.

Haven't driven with the rails on yet; letting the silicone sealant cure before doing so.

Recently did a swap from rails to no rails. For anyone buying these note the double arrows point towards the front of the vehicle and the triangles point passenger direction (all oriented the same way). Install the plastic covers starting on the double arrow side (that has the flexible metal clip, and the other side is a rigid plastic tab so it's easier that way and avoids potentially breaking the plastic clip).

Any noticeable change in noise or MPG for you?

It is quieter at speed. Itโ€™s not a massive difference but I did notice it being a little quieter at 65-75mph. Too early to tell on mpg since itโ€™s only been a couple days.

Quieter?!? Wow, that's not what I expected. Good to know!

I noticed zero difference going from the delete kit (no rails) on my 1958 to having rails installed. When I attach the Thule crossbars, that's when the noise shows up. The side mirrors on these things seem to create the most noticeable noise at speed.

Fwiw, I'm using Thule Crossroads 450R feet with 53" Aeroblade bars. Feet use a rubber coated steel strap to attach to the rails. Super easy and can adjust crossbar spread in seconds.
