Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this annoying pop up?!

It’s related to the DMC (Driver Monitor Camera) Recording being turned off. I’m assuming there is something else that’s dependent on the DMC but I’ve turned off everything I can think of. I even reset the entire truck because I couldn’t remove the Face ID function without wiping everything out.

The manuals are USELESS!

I don’t think you can get rid of that message. I disabled my DMS and I still get that message on occasion when my hand is at 12 o’clock on the wheel. It goes away on its own for me though, I wouldn’t have time to take a picture.

Sadly, no. Unless there is a software update that changes things this nonsense will remain. You can turn off the worst of that crap system but not all of it. Heaven forbid a human actually be in full control of their modern car.

Of the 30 or so cars I've owned, this is my favorite but this think-for-the driver crap is awful. I hate everything about it and have no problem that it's there if I want it, but I don't want it, have turned it off (ostensibly), and it will not allow me to fully disable it. The chimes and visual warnings are bad enough but the intervention is flatly unsafe for someone who is fully engaged and knows how to drive. I will maintain that anyone who needs this stuff should never be behind the wheel. And this stuff, especially when it brakes for me when I don't need to or want to brake, is both unhelpful (because I am paying attention and know what's going on around me) and dangerous (because it is overriding my deliberate choices that I and many times others are relying on).

Yes…to all of this.

I disabled the driver camera and I do Not get that message. I don't remember what exactly I turned off and 1t's 11 degrees outside...... LOL, Maybe when I get home I'll cycle through my setup and post. But I def have it turned off and I don't get that message

Did you do this?

To turn those nannies off ;
go to vehicle settings on dash...
Driver Monitor Settings
"Driver Monitor Alert" - TURN OFF
"DMC Recording" - TURN OFF. ** this one I am not 100% sure helps with nannies. It might...not sure...but anything that is recording me is creepy anyway and I cannot imagine a good reason for it, so no thanks.

I get that message constantly as I mostly drive with my left hand at 12 o'clock, which apparently triggers the sensors that are still doing background monitoring.

Oh my gosh…please let me know. I’m tempted to turn everything off and then see if it goes away. Then start adding things back to see what’s driving it.

Yes all of these are off plus others. Thinking of turning everything off and seeing what happens

That's really strange. I have a First E. and doing those two things worked for me. No more warnings about not looking straight ahead. That was completely annoying.
Now when in driver assist mode it still tells me to place my hands on the wheel after about 20 seconds of not touching the steering wheel. This one you cannot get rid of and probably for the best.

Word of caution: Make sure you move your 12 o'clock hand out of the way before airbag fires or you will be catastrophically injured.
Not that I would have time to contemplate this....but please explain further. What are you talking about exactly. Injured more so than if hands were in different position?

I think that they should be at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock.

When you go into the menu, you can turn driver alerts off. Annoyed the hell out of me at first. I was more likely to have an accident because I was pissed at the silly messages than I would for being distracted. Which almost always resulted from driving with your arm in front of the driver camera. I get what they're trying to achieve, but it's silly technology that's just annoying.

You'll find it when you play around with the menu function.

X 💯 🎯

Learning to drive Miss Daisy, with all the high tech stuff alarming, has been more stressful than when I took the Drivers Education class in high school. And all the alarms of TSS 3.0 actually distract me from paying attention to what’s going on outside of Miss Daisy.

How have I made it for the last 53 years of driving without having any accidents, fender benders, or moving violations of any kind???

I had my right arm near the wrist broken in 2 places when the airbag went off because I had it at the 12:00. Head on collision a while back.
