…To my husband! ;) I’ve been keeping him up-to-date (ok, boring him to death) since the new LC was announced last year and we finally bought a black 1958 for me. He gets my 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road, which he drove more than I did. We traded his 2018 SR5.

The 2022 was our sixth 4Runner in the last thirty years, so it’s a little bittersweet for me to give it up to him. I’ve always admired the older LCs, but never cared for the luxury 300 series and couldn’t have afforded one if I’d wanted one. Toyota finally made an affordable version and the stripped-down 1958 is just what I was hoping for.

I’m here hoping to learn more about this truck and keep informed about others’ experiences with this newer power-train. I’ve never owned a hybrid before, so here we go!

I waited for nearly a year (like most people on this forum) for a chance to buy this truck. I bored everyone who would listen to me drone on about the new LC.

I brought it home only to discover the worst thing about owning it... Everyone in the house wants to drive it. We're blessed to have some cool vehicles, but this one seems to get all the drive time.

The hybrid platform takes a little time to get used to, but it's smooth and has a lot of low end torque.

I wish you many happy miles (that YOU put on) and great joy with your new ride.
