Has anyone notice the 1958 fender flares are flushed w the fender as opposed to the other trims? I noticed a significant difference in the Lexus GX over trail edition. But now I’m seeing a slight difference in the other LC models. Is it just me or is there an actual difference 🤔

I came really close to selecting the Overtrail, but discovered Lexus omitted the three-zone HVAC, which is even standard on the 1958. No ceiling vents or rear seat control. I'm sure it had to do with price point. The Luxury+ with 22" wheels was a no-no, even though now only a casual off-roader, and add to this the dealer was 8 hours round trip. So, an LC with the Premium Pkg.

I can confirm the 1958 is equipped with narrower side moldings for the fender arch when compared to the Land Cruiser trim. Once you see it you cant un see it.

Yes, the Land Cruiser gets a tiny flare and the 1958 is basically just a molding. You could swap them out, but it’ll cost you close to $800. I destroyed my front driver wheel well molding and considered replacing all 4 with the Land Cruiser flares (they also offer more protection on the rear with a bigger lip for stones and debris) but $800 is a lot for pieces of plastic.

I wonder if the fronts and rears can be purchased separately? For whatever reason the 1958 front flares don’t bother me because of the actual flare of the fender but the lack of flare in the rear fender does annoy me.

Edit: I think I was wrong, now that I’m looking at the LC, both the front and rear flares look to be about the same width.

So far what I've seen is the entire set. 2 solid pieces for the front fenders (1 per wheel ) and 4 pieces for the back (2 per wheel)
I'm actually about to order these from Nengun. This will be my second order with them, I'm pretty happy about the first round of orders of Jaos Tribe wheels

I ran the Japanese install pdf thru ChatGPT and it said the kit includes all the primers and adhesives along with the 6 trim pieces.
It will require drilling some 7mm holes in the body, I think 4 (one per wheel)

I've been holding off for a US after market set but the only one I know of it just says coming soon and I'm not paying for shit that's coming soon. There are some options on eBay but they look janky and the current 1958 ones look better.

If the money isn't an issue you cannot go wrong with JAOS.

The JAOS wheels I put on are of excellent machining quality and delivery was good but expensive.

I'll be installing the flares in May. It takes a few weeks to receive the order from Japan.

Yea the 1958 is the most flush because our stock wheel is so inboard vs the LC/GX550. You can opt to get the LC trim if you want them to stick out a bit more. There are aftermarket options like the jaos, and a few Chinese options that I’ve seen.

I want to know what flares these are. The picture is from an Australian Land Cruiser group.

Also, the oem flares can each be purchased individually. I bought just one front fender molding. Each one has a part number.

I believe these are sold by a company in Iceland. If I recall correctly, it was like 1300+ for the set.

OUCH! OUCH! Hopefully, someone starts making a reasonably priced set.
I’m not sure on actual cost. They do not have them on their site yet. On their FB page, where I found the pictures, they said they are still figuring out pricing. Also, these are their 33”-37” flares. They also have a larger flare that is more blended with the body and body colored that’ll likely be really expensive. But no pricing for that yet either. I’ll probably pick up the 33”-37” flare once the LC is paid off.
