Clark and I did some exploring on some of the forest trails in northern Minnesota. It was a good test of the Duratrac RTs.

The wheels are OE 18 inchers from a '24 LC FE. They were lightly scratched, so I got them at a fair price and had them powder coated to match the roof.

For your enjoyment this pic was off the Steens Mountain Loop Road, the highest in Oregon at around 9700 feet, at a favorite camping spot. It climbs up the shallow side of this fault block mountain known as Tse'tse'ede, "The Cold One," by the Northern Paiute. When open (usually July thru October) it's a relatively easy drive on graded gravel with the usual washboard, dust and steep grades. The mountain is the largest in the Great Basin without conifers because of its isolation. At the mid elevations are mountain mahogany and aspen stands, with large cottonwoods below. We take a trip there every few years usually in the fall. This was the first time with the Land Cruiser which tackled the road in comfort.
