Noisy Brakes fixed

Does anyone use a third-party Toyota master mechanic, like that Car Care Nut guy? I'm not saying repair it with a third-party if it's still under warranty, but maybe they could shed more light on this issue.
I wish I knew someone like TCCN down here.

I am not saying I won’t drive to Chicago if MIss Daisy needs help someday.

Please call Toyota customer service 1-800-331–4331 to complain about the brake noise. Mine have squealed since the day I bought it and I’m at 5000 miles. They told me they won’t fix this or put out an TSB until enough. People complain to them.

There is some irony to this because Lexus already has a TSB out.

Here it is, I hope

I guess Lexus owner’s whine more. If I paid Lexus prices for the car and maintenance, I would whine more too.
While I did not like the way the dealership said it, the service advisor called Lexus owners, "cry babies" and thus Lexus threw them a bone.

The other semi-irony is that my FE cost more than a number of GX550 models.

I spoke with the local Lexus Dealership's Service Manager (because the service writer I spoke with was not sure) and asked if he could somehow use the Lexus TSB to get the breaks repaired on my Toyota LC.

He said that he did not see why not, especially because he has a TSB for the Lexus variant of my vehicle, but he asked if he could speak to his warranty specialist and get back to me on Monday, so maybe that is another way to attack this issue, if it is possible.

Good intel, keep us updated if you don’t mind?

Something I experienced the other day is probably not related to this issue, but it's worth mentioning.

I was parked for maybe 25 minutes, with the vehicle ON, but the engine was OFF (on battery). I shifted in to reverse, and the Parking Brake failed to release completely. I heard the squeal as well.

I stopped immediately, waited a few seconds while still in reverse, then tried again. The Parking Brake released and there was no squeal.

Maybe this isn't a brake pad/shim issue, but something with the PB not releasing properly.

That was already suggested, but where I live I have four Toyota stores, owned by two different dealers groups.

Both are terrible, the other group told me I could pay $2,500 for new breaks or $250 for the diag fee.

I told them I would pay neither as the issue is real and Lexus already has a TSB for it, their response, we can call the Police.

I said to the guy, please call the Police, in fact here I will call them for you and he said, give me a sec, let's not be hasty.

He called who I presume to be his Manager and after talking to him for a few minutes, said we won't charge you for the diag, but please don't come back.

I laughed and walked out, so yeah in my neck of the woods Toyota stores suck.
Are you in the Chicago area? Sounds like my dealership experience.

I took my LC to my local Lexus dealer for a different issue and they said they could work on the car but not use the warranty to pay for it. They indicated Toyota and Lexus warranties are separate systems and I would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs.

Any parking brake, on almost any car, can have a resonance point. But if we assume the parking brake does not release properly, that is a stretch, owners would fast get seizing pads/rotors, overheat etc. And on new cars i almost never heard of it being an issue. Now for Lexus owners, hard to tell, my understanding is that they have a higher tier set of components (esp rotors and pads). Personally, if it was that annoying, I would order after market Brembo rotors, sportier pads, and less squealing.

A lot of people do not know but brake servicing is the new golden ticket for all service centers, especially Toyota. they want your brakes to be iffy and to require frequent- paid for- service. The North American brake service revenue is worth USD billions, and got up and up in price with each generation of cars, BBK etc This is why they do not want to proliferate higher grade steel rotors (vs iron) and CCBs. Brembo charges, for profit 250$ USD a resin based CCB that the auto manufacturers the charge 5000-1000$ USD per rotor. When I customized my strand woven (non resin) CCBs (aerospace grade at an aerospace parts supplier- using my Brembo pdf specs), i was shocked to find out how Brembo has monopolized this market. They charge 50$ per high grade 370-400mm steel rotor (markup to 500$); 250$ USD per oven baked CCB rotor (auto maker markup is 5000-10000 USD- but they last forever) and so on. So Toyotas are most reliable, it makes sense for Toyota to push back on servicing brakes for free, one of the very things they need to generate post sales revenue.

I heard back from the Service Manager at the local Lexus Dealership, he said that his warranty specialist said that since the dealer group who owns the Lexus Dealerships owns a Toyota Store in a different part of the State (3+ hours from me) they could push it through, but that normally it would be impossible to apply a Toyota Warranty at a Lexus Dealership.
Are you in the Chicago area? Sounds like my dealership experience.
No, Florida and probably worse than Chicago. The big issue in Florida is Southeast Toyota Distributorship which is the middle man to the middle man making it more expensive for the Toyota Dealerships to operate (I am not crying one iota for any of them) and thus making the dealerships less willing to be customer friendly.
I took my LC to my local Lexus dealer for a different issue and they said they could work on the car but not use the warranty to pay for it. They indicated Toyota and Lexus warranties are separate systems and I would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs.
The Lexus Dealership ordinarily cannot, but the Service Manager said with a TSB on the Lexus side and the dealer group owning a Toyota Store in a different part of the State, his warranty specialist felt it could be pushed through.

Mine have screeched from day one. Now has 5500 miles and still does it on occasion mainly when backing up out of the garage...
