Hi I’m after some help as to what this sudden whistle/siren noise is coming from turbo area.
Having owned the Lc150 since 40,000 miles on the clock and now 81,000 this car has performed faultless.
Serviced by myself at regular intervals with all correct components etc…
Following a trip of roughly 350miles two weekends ago on a Saturday things were as normal.
Upon starting the car on the Sunday morning this sudden whistle was present and when slowly increasing rpm the whistle also increased. Arrr!!!
What could it be ?
I’ve had a good look over checking all rubber hose for splits loose clips clamps etc which there are none.
Looked at the exhaust front to back no obvious issue.
Looking around turbo unit area ( where you can sort of see ) and all appears to be fine. So now I’m scratching my head!!
Reading up on the old world famous google there doesn’t seem to be many commonly known issues with the D4D turbo in particular.
So I’m kind of reluctant to start pulling turbo apart if I’m going in the wrong direction.
Does anyone know of or had this happen to them if so what did you do to fix this problem?
There isn’t any fault codes/ lights on anything all appears to be as should be no power issue smoke oil usage nothing.
Please if anyone can provide any information please it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
