My floor board…

Drivers side is constantly wet. Originally I thought maybe I tracked in some snow from hunting season so I removed the all weather mat and dried it out with a fan. I did that a couple times but when I drive for a half an hour it gets wet again under the floor mat. It’s not likely a missing drain plug cause it still gets wet when the roads are dry. I had an appointment at the dealership today for an oil change so they checked it out said they couldn’t find anything and I told them to keep it till they fix it. It’s just the front driver side and only on the bottom. I don’t feel any dampness any higher up. It is the premie with cool box. Got a rav 4 for a loaner.

Good question, as the cool box presumably has an evaporator, so what happens to the condensation?

No I don’t, I’ve only used the cool box a couple of times. I haven’t used it in over a month. I’m just kinda wondering if there is some line going to the cool box that may be unhooked. Didn’t really think about trying it out lately.

I’ve seen similar issue on the 4GTacoma forums. Cracked evaporator core box leaking onto drivers floor board. Hopefully that’s not the case here.

I don’t have personal experience with this, only recall seeing the issue on that forum.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I feel like these forum communities are better informed than some Toyota techs. Not that I have lost my faith in the integrity of the Toyota technicians… I just feel they have a lot of vehicles and technology to keep up with. I have been in the woods with it and busted through a couple of frozen puddles but nothing to lead me to believe that I broke anything. If it is this evaporator box you speak of or not… this sounds a lot like it is not my fukin problem. I’m going to want the issue documented and warrantied that my floor board doesn’t rust out prematurely. I’m planning on keeping this vehicle for 10+ years.

I have had other SUVs that had condensation tubes from under the dash vents that were supposed to drain through the fire wall. Occasionally, they would clog or get disconnected and then the water would flow invisibly onto the floor board. I don't know if the LC has that design feature but some other brands do.

Same experience, especially on cars that park under trees, since the cabin and roof drain go to the same place. At least on some cars.

Dealer called me today to let me know they’re working on it and are going to have it for another night. The “ master technician “ has the carpet out and was drying it out. I could tell from the app they had the drivers side door open and tonight both front windows are open.
