My experience in the Pacific Northwest; shopping in September 2024

I hope all those waiting get theirs soon, The dock strikes are going to drive deliveries to a slow trickle!

Yes agreed. I waited over 2 months after my vehicle hit the port in Portland.

I’ve been checking the estimated arrival date of my vehicle everyday on Toyota.com. Until today it showed that it was expected by 20OCT24. Today it doesn’t show any date. It just says “vehicle may be in transit. “😅

I just texted my sales associate Caleb and got an update. It says “Vessel Arrival”. Fingers crossed it get through the port soon. I wonder if it’s on the west coast or the east coast. Hopefully not the east coast with the port strikes going on. I hope it is here on the west coast.

Almost assuredly coming through Portland.
That is really good news! The dealership is only two hours away from the Portland Port. When it’s ready for me to pick it up I plan on making it a small family trip. It’s about 3 hours from our hometown in Washington. We will rent a car to drive down there. Pick up the LC and spend a couple days on the Oregon Coast before driving it back home. Coincidentally we just celebrated our 14 year anniversary there at Cannon Beach in August. It was our toddler’s first real beach experience. Cannon Beach is only 30 minutes from the dealership.

If anyone in the West Coast or PacNW is still looking for a LC. I highly recommend Doxon Toyota in Auburn, WA. ((253) 833-4555) I worked with David Alenick. He reached out to me through No Mark Up Toyota on FB. If you put in a build, and it gets allocated to you, they will also work with you on any additions.. They won't put any on that you don't want.
David was no pressure, and very responsive, same with their Finance manager.

Today Caleb sent me a message, “good news”!

It’s almost here and the feeling is quite thrilling.

It’s finally here and I am thrilled! Picked up my Land Cruiser yesterday from Lum’s Toyota in Warrenton, OR. Caleb was excellent and very professional. The truck was unloaded from the trailer that morning and they had it inspected, prepped, cross bars installed, detailed and ceramic coated by noon. They made our LC a priority that morning because we drove almost three hours to get there. The dealership had a really nice atmosphere and the entire process was enjoyable. The best car buying experience I ever had. Everyone in each department (Sales, Service , Detail, F&I) was just fantastic. We were back on the road within two hours. I highly recommend Lum’s Toyota.
