My wife and I are currently on a 6 week road trip from Pennsylvania to Colorado and Utah (Moab). I thought I would share some impressions. My LC premium underground had 500 miles on the clock when we left PA. First leg was to Columbus OH a distance of 450 miles. I had her in eco, no problem drove the speed limit and returned a 25.6 mpg. This positivity surprised me as the vehicle was fully laden with camping stuff for our entire trip. The general drive, road holding and power for what she is was more than sufficient. My daily driver is an AMG so I am aware of powerful cars. The seats and ride position was extremely comfortable and all round vision excellent. My only negative was the small gas tank which necessitated regular gas station visits. Counter point though -at my age this is in any case needed :)

Our next leg of the trip is approximately 430 miles to St Louis then Salina and Co Springs.

I will post further impressions as we cover more ground

Looking forward to reading more about how the LC handles long road trips. Overall comfort, as you mention is excellent with seats & seating position, is my primary purchase consideration for my next car, as I hope to get on the road with some long trips again.

After 4 days and 1600 miles we arrived in Colorado yesterday. The LC was a dream. Handled the road brilliantly as well as two major rain storms. The comfort of the ride was way beyond expectations. My wife is height challenged and felt the visibility was a real plus factor. Fuel consumption for the entire trip was 24.2mpg which I feel is very reasonable.

Whilst in Colorado Springs we did Pikes Peak drive which was a breeze for the LC. We then tackled Rampant Ride road. A non paved forest trail of 57 miles. The LC also handled this with ease. Consumption is now at 20.6mpg. Besides the small gas tank which I mentioned in my first mail the vehicle is a magnet for bugs. Besides that a fantastic vehicle especially in the wild where it thrives

I had the same experience on a 2000 mile round trip. Very comfortable and capable.

We have returned from our roadtrip from Pennsylvania to Colorado and Utah and back. Took us 6 weeks and covered 5900 miles. Some observations. The LC performed fantastically and was far more comfortable on long stretches than the various Mercedes I have. Mpg on entire trip was 23.7. In the mid part of the country I saw 26. I generally drove the speed limit. The LC handled the mountain passes such as pikes peak, San Juan and I70 with no issues. The engine handling climbs with ease. We also did a number of off road trails and forest roads such as Rampant Ridge in CO and Schaefer trail in Moab. If you have not been to Moab and like the outdoors I would throughly advise it. We also rented UTVs in Moab and did Hells Gate and Hells revenge.
The stock tires were a limitation and I have now put on Falken Wildpeaks 4at 275/60/20. Love them! On long stretches of road you really get to meet the locals as you spend a lot of times in gas stations. ๐Ÿ˜ This honestly is the only issue I found on the entire trip.
On the return this week I had the 5000 mile service and also changed the oil and air filter.

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Pretty awesome! We loved our short time in Utah and canโ€™t wait to go back in our LC.

Cheers!
