What is the consensus on skid plates and the radiator support mounting option? I’ve seen the threads for available options, but should I seek out a solution that uses the tow point location instead of the radiator support location, or is it not something to be concerned about?

Am concerned a bit about this myself, but do not anticipate tackling rocks, only sagebrush. Hope it is sufficient for that?

If it's me buying an aftermarket part, it has to be better than the OEM for my intended purpose. So yes, I would avoid them.
I would also look at ones that provide easy oil change access so whoever changes the oil doesn't have to drop the entire skid plate every time.
