Sure hope it becomes a reality! Toyota is smart to pursue this market segment, as except for something much more expensive, what is there out there which is quiet on the highway and reliable, emphasis on reliable.

As many reports from non-AI sources have indicated, this will be sold to compete with the Suzuki Jimny, which in North America is available in Mexico in limited numbers. It's based on the Hilux Champ pickup which is also sold in Mexico, Thailand, and the Philippines. Closet vehicle sold in Canada and the USA is probably the Mahindra Roxor?
