Land Cruiser (mid-level trim) running boards?

I just measurd the running boards on my LCLC. The surface measures 5.75 inches, which includes the rounded outer edge.
Thank you!

Impossible to answer question for ya: If it were two inches skinnier would it seem too small? Would you be worried about grandma climbing in?

I like the width of the running boards and wouldn't want them any narrower (or wider). I can comforrtably stand on it as I get in and out of the car. We're in our early 70s and have no probem getting in and out. My buddy has an FE with rock rails and I wouldn't trade for any amount of money. The running boards are great and, IMO, an essential accessory to LC.

Thanks again, thatโ€™s a huge help!

Agreed. Iโ€™ve got small children and really appreciate the running board. I also find myself using it too, and Iโ€™m 6โ€™ tall.

I would not want it to be any skinnier for step purposes.

Our First Edition came with a set of rock rails and unless you are in flip flops you foot will not fit in them to act like a step. My wife didn't like the Rock Rails so I found a set of take-off Predator Drop Steps, they are better, but she doesn't care for them either. Now I am looking for a set full length running boards. Up for sale: OEM Rock Rails & OEM Predator Drop Steps. I am in SoCal - Orange County.

That seems like a good solution, the rock rails are very heavy duty, and made out of steel, not aluminum like the Predator Drop Step. There are already holes in the gussets between the two rail tubes, so mounting should be pretty simple if they use those holes. The rock rails mount to nut-serts in Frame, where the running boards and the predator drop step mounts to nut-serts in the body/cab.

Hey man did you ever close this deal. I'm in NorCal, have OEM running boards and am seeking rock rails. I realize the OEM Rock Rails don't really act like a step. Lemme know.

I still have my OEM rock rails, and I am still wanting OEM running boards. I would be happy to swap with you. I live in Orange County, are you ever in the LA area?
