2024 felc meator shower.
In our 2024 LCFE the key will stop working. I need to put it up close to the switch to get it to start. I tested the spare key, works fine. I pulled the battery out of the non working key and tested it 3 volts, OK. I put the battery back in and it work like new with the same battery. I tried the spare for a while and had the same problem. I think it starts to work because I am rebooting the key. This has happened 4 or 5 times. Has anyone else have this problem? I know if I take it to the dealer it will work fine, No Problem found.

It sounds like you putting it on the wireless charger pad when you are driving. That happened to me out wheeling in the mountains. This is a known issue (do a search and it will come up in the forums). When you take the battery out and put it back in you are rebooting the key and it starts working again.

Related, anyone find the remote locking/unlocking very poor? Seems like I have to be within 20 ft with absolutely no obstacle, not even clothes sometimes.

Thanks for the response. The phone charger may be the reason for the key failure. I keep the key in my pocket and the key never fails for me, but my wife puts it on the tray by the phone charger and it has failed for her 5 times. As for unlocking distance I have not seen it to be a problem, It might be a battery issue.

Yes. It may be Toyota method of being able to sell the app for remote starting. I had a rav4 for a loaner… same deal.
