Seems to be THUMPING HARD and loud one moment then at MAX 60, there's not much bass you can feel and the volume isn't loud enough to hurt your ears.

Changes from GREAT to MEH whenever I'm driving under X speed or over, etc. VERY RANDOM.

Anyone else have this issue?

Is it the noise canceling BS affecting it?

Good question. I had a 2023 Tacoma OR with the "premium" JBL sound system in it, and I have to say, it was one of the worst sounding, operating systems I have had to date. Mine never sounded good, or rarely did, seemed like there was something going on with the amp/bass/speaker side of things, and I rarely ever pushed volumes with it. Ploddy, boomy, buzzy, sometimes non-existent bass. Not that it is the same system we have in the LC's that I know of. Although maybe similar. I tried turning off the volume/noise ambient sound thingy-apologies, cannot recall exactly what it was called in the menu, and that did not help. Messed with all the tone settings, fader etc., and just gave up and quit listening to it.

I hope though you are not trying to listen to the thing at max volume, as eventually something will give out including your hearing! I think most of the JBL systems in general just do not have beefy/solid enough amplifiers in their stock form to do an adequate job of driving the speakers, in my own opinion. And to be truthful, most of the stock speakers aren't anything to get excited about either.

With all of my nonsense being said, I do actually think the premium setup in my wife's LC LC Prem. sounds pretty good, and I can't say much bad about my simple stock system in my 1948, and I am kind of an audio nerd. I just chalk my Tacoma system as something terribly wrong with it in general, and I just never got it to the dealer to check it out, so that is on me. So who knows?

Maybe there is something going on with your system, might be worth taking it in at some point to the dealer and have them check it out. Hopefully you can get it figured out!

I have seen some cars have a variable audio level based on speed. I haven’t been through the multimedia manual for the Land Cruiser thoroughly, but maybe this is what’s happening?
