I am considering buying a Sugar Brown Premium Land Cruiser from another province, but I cannot see the car until picked up. The sales sent me some videos and photos of the vehicle. The car is built in the Tahara plant, and I found a misalignment between the driver's door and the fender. I am wondering if it is normal for the Land Cruiser built in the Tahara plant to have a misalignment like this? And I also wonder how is the alignment of the cars you guys picked up?

You mean the black trim pieces? Looks like they are not misaligned, but the one on the front is a narrower piece.

Not the black trim pieces. The line of the shape on the fender doesn't exactully connect the line on the driver's door.

Ahh I see it know. Dealer may be able to align it.

I do not know how it is done, but I think it is possible. I suspect they adjust the hinges.
So you mean it is supposed to be good but the dealer adjusted the hinges so the there is a misalignment between the door and fender?

No it probably came like that from the factory, but dealer may fix it.

The door gap is adjustable by either adjusting the door hinges or the fender. Any body shop would be able to adjust this, including the dealer.

The dealer guy said they don't think they can do a better job than the factory, so they may try but prefer not to.

Unless they have a body shop, I wouldn't let them try...... they could make it worse!

This is what I think as well. Will prefer get a good body shop to do that.

Is it light reflection in photo?

Top trim match, bottom door and fender match, so my guess is the inbetween (area in question) matches too. The pic is an optical illusion. When you go check it out it'll be fine.

I hope so.

OP, do you have a plastic wrap over your rear wheel? I would remove that if you are driving around with that.
