Hey everybody,

My name is Lee. My wife and I live in Washington State, in the Columbia River Gorge. I’m an airline pilot, a woodworker, a kayaker, and an audio enthusiast.

Our 1958 is the first, true Toyota we’ve owned, but we used to have a 2005 xB, which we loved. I have two friends, one with an FJ and one with an 09 4Runner. I’ve been majorly impressed by both of them off road, and I’m looking forward to being in the club! Another friend recently bought a 24 Tacoma Off Road, which is awesome. I had lots of options. Test drove older 4Runners, Tacomas, the new Tacoma, a new Bronco, etc. But when I drove the 1958, something just felt right about it. I only have about 500 miles on it right now. I put one tank of gas on the stock tires before getting these awesome KO3’s. Mileage went from 22.5 to about 21, but it’s still breaking in, so whatever that’s worth. Got it at about 2k under MSRP. It came with a carpet cargo mat and the Toyota dash cam, otherwise completely stock, which is great for me. Still waiting on the rubber Toyota floor mats I ordered at the dealer, so I’m using the mats from the rear of my wife’s Crosstrek right now!

Anyway, I’ve already read through a bunch of threads and am excited to be part of the community! Anybody need some highway tires? Haha.

Welcome aboard Lee! I share your analysis of the LC versus the Tacoma and 4Runner. Will be interesting to see how the new 4Runner fares. Never driven a Bronco, and do not anticipate doing so. I wish the Toyota reliability.

Welcome, fellow WA stater! I’m with you—I had a 5th gen 4Runner in the past, and recently test drove a 2024 Tacoma and a 1958 back to back and pretty much immediately knew it was time to abandon financial responsibility and spend up to get a LC lol
