I just sold the car I swore I’d never sell; my 1999 Limited 4Runner 4x4. But after getting into the LC, I have no regrets. That’s how much I love this LC!

I sold my '99 4Runner about 15 years ago, and have regretted it ever since. When my LC shows up in 3 weeks, I'll finally have my redemption.

We also have had a 2004 4Runner, a 2019 4Runner, a 2014 Tundra, and a 2016 Tacoma. The LC is so much nicer than any of them. We still have the 2019. It’s a great car. But the LC is so much nicer to drive.

I really thought I was going to miss the ‘99. Having the LC makes it a lot easier to forget the ‘99! A couple years ago I would have never thought I’d say that

How did 99 4-Runner aged? I’ve heard it is the best gen for 4-Runner. Though I love the 5-gen and I think 24 4-Runner will probably out-live this LC…

Keepin' my '99 SR5 with the 5 speed. It's snowing again and it wants to go out and play rusty bumpers and all.

I loved my 5th gen 4runner never been to the mechanic for anything during my entire ownership! but I do feel this Land Cruiser could match it's reliability.

Here’s a 1986 TURBO 4Runner still running strong after 38 years proof of Toyota’s legendary durability. I have no doubt the 250 Series could last just as long with proper care. The first-gen Toyota 4Runner Turbo is rare, bulletproof, and in high demand - Hagerty Media - https://www.hagerty.com/media/buying-and-selling/auctions/first-gen-toyota-4runner-turbo-rare/

3rd gen was awesome. But I think the current 5th gen’s will last just as long. No reason to think otherwise. We put 220,000+ miles on the ‘04. Never a day of trouble

When I got my’99, I was thrilled because it kind of looked like an 80 series

I had an '86 first gen 4Runner...

Since it was my first vehicle, I have a lot of nostalgia for that truck, but mine was NOT bullet proof...rust issues galore and the original paint was awful and faded quite quickly....but most of all, it was SEVERELY under-powered and a slog to drive. The engine was constantly being over-worked, trying to climb hills on mountain highways was rough, I'd actually get passed by semi trucks on occasion. The engine completely failed on me at about 150K miles...

(EDIT: To be fair, mine was NOT a turbo like the one mentioned in your link/photo)

Mine… 250K miles before I just couldn’t justify putting another $1K into and wasn’t sure I trusted the shop anymore. That ‘99 was awesome.

I just put a $700 headlight on my 190K mile Xterra, after I bought LC. Both cars serve different purposes though
