2025 Landcruiser
I have been a diehard ford F150 driver for many years, my wife and I purchased a 2011 FJ Cruiser new in 2011. This was her daily driver. We both loved that vehicle. I recently decided to try Toyota myself and bought the new 2025 LC. I just got back from a 1400 mile trip to North Carolina. I had a chance to get the feel of the new car. I have a few dislikes. The “Attentive Driver “ function is annoying. Can’t that be disabled??

The cruise control is nice and annoying at the same time. I don’t like the auto braking system. On my ford it would slow down but this vehicle brakes and sometimes it is unnecessary and abrupt.

MPG. Is no where near advertised. I averaged 20 at 70 MPH. I was using lower octane gas and even went to high octane with no difference in performance. In fact I couldn’t tell any difference in the performance of the vehicle, the only difference I noticed was in the cost of fuel.

The ride is very comfortable and I’m 6’4”.
Changes I will eventually make will be wheels and tires. I like a little wider stance than stock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No perceptible pinging/detonation when using 87 octane? You are essentially zero altitude, so for sure it would be noticeable.

Welcome!

Yes the driver attention alert can be disabled in the menu options.

Also lots of threads on here about tire and wheel option, and real world mpg. Personally I’m getting the 23-25mpg here in phoenix. Eveyone has seen their mpg improve after the first 1000-2000 miles I believe… i saw mine jump from 20 to 23-25.

I thought perhaps break in period may change the MPG a little bit. I did find the way to disable the driver assist.

You can also adjust the breaking distance for the auto braking system. I find it much more useful when set to a distance lower than where you would normally break. So it only takes over breaking if you are late etc, and acts more like backup.

How do you find size & comfort compared to your F150? One of those, a 2007 Lariat, was the best vehicle I’ve owned. I’ve not yet had a chance to drive a LC to compare though, only been able to sit in one in the showroom so far.

I had a 2023 F150 platinum, absolutely loved the truck! But I got the bug after looking at the LC. I find them comparable in comfort, although the F150 has a little more leg room. I am 6’4” and the leg room in the LC is fine

I had a 2021 Lariat. I liked it a lot but IMO LC drives way better - LC’s suspension and shorter wheel base play a factor too. Very happy with the LC.

That’s kind of my hope in looking at the LC. With a better drive, if the LC can replicate the feel closely of the F150 on the highway, that shorter wheelbase should make it much more maneuverable in the city. I didn’t expect quite so many F150 defectors here, as it seems half the vehicles on the roads here are full-size trucks of some type, perhaps mostly F150s.
