I picked up my first 25' Land Cruiser Premium two weeks ago. I owned 5 4Runners (3rd, 4th and 5th gens, including V-8) in the last 25 years and always have been happy with them. The main reason I decided to switch my vehicle was the fact that my 4Runner Limited was pushing 50000 miles and I was concern about potential issues with dreaded X-REAS suspension. It's like a lottery- sometimes they last 70k-90k miles, sometimes they fail much earlier. So, I was hoping to drive it another year, but the news about new tariffs(actual price will not increase 25% at all, but could go up for 5-7 thousands more) and I got really good deal on Land Cruiser Premium (5K below the sticker price).
What to say... I am so glad that I got my LC and truly enjoy driving it. Looking for any reason to get out from the house and take a ride. The only thing I do not like is a cooler box which is totally pointless and picks up already very limited internal storage space. Also I would rather have 18" rims, but can live with 20's for now.
Going to add minor mods like roof rack crossbars, retractible cargo cover, JDM side mirrors, hood protector, mud guards, lighted door sills and window visors. All goodies are en route from US distributors, Japan and Europe. I wish that they were available at the local dealer, but I do not mind to do the search on my computer. Sometimes it is almost exiting to get a good deal or just find the particular part.
. As for 6th generation 4Runner-I prefer Land Cruiser's boxy appearance much more.
