I found yesterday that not even two months of minor usage of my LC the cover at the edge of the engine bay is already half detached from its original attachment. Does this also happened to you? I am not sure whether it is supposed to be ok or can I ask dealer to replace a new piece for me

If you look at the bottom window trim closer to the door edges, you'll really be disappointed

I am aware the issue of that piece but my engine side cover is way worse than that. I can already see the detachment happened and the only thing holding it in place is a small piece of rubber. I bet at this rate of deterioration that piece will fall off in another few weeks.

It is supposed to be a brand new car and I don’t understand how did this happen

Having owned a number of Land Rovers and Jeeps over the years, it looks good to me...

Well, it’s because it’s plastic and plastic is malleable. I don’t like it but you’d be hard pressed to find a new car that didn’t heavily utilize plastic trim

That doesn't look great to me either. Maybe point it out to your dealer and see if they can address it under warranty. My guess is, they will.

It is not because the piece is plastic. All other plastic part is attached to the car well still. Only that specific piece, and I suspect the broken part is the material they use to attach it, likely some kind of rubber. It feels like a bad installation or glue in the first place.
