land cruiser 2025
Picked up a new 2025 Land Cruiser yesterday.

The bad- whoever designed the interior should be fired. Never owned a Toyota and I pride myself on a clean vehicle. The disappointment started when I moved the little bit of stuff over from my full size truck and had to get rid of most of it. The cool box is a costly gimmick. Also gives up valuable storage under the rear seat that my truck had. Bought the tray for the cool box already. So I guess people are also cooling their business cards, sunglasses, etc.

The volume button looks like they forgot it and added it at the last minute. So out of place.

It’s funny the steering wheel heater is on the passenger side.

The rear seat belt warnings are awful and I’ve already fixed that with a Carista. Dog goes everywhere with me and when they are buckled, she stepped on them and they came unbuckled. Have to pull over. Not to mention she was getting caught in the seatbelt getting in and out while it was buckled. And the little trick things you put in there will get lost when kids do get in and out.

Premium gas in a Toyota. Funny when people are lecturing like “don’t buy a 70k vehicle and skip on premium.” This is a Toyota and not a BMW. All SUVs cost 70k now and premium SUVs are 100k. Very disappointed in the premium and I found out when I picked it up. May have given the GX 550 more consideration.

The good - bought it for the looks and still love that. Surprised I don’t see more with the larger premium Nitto wheels. Love the looks.

Has plenty of power for a 4 cyl imo.

There are four storage areas in the back of the LC. Not much space but much better than my 5th gen 4runner.

I'm starting to get suspicious of all of the bitching that is done after the 70k has been spent. I'm not sure I've been on a forum where it was so prevalent. Either most of it's not real, or some have become so accustomed to making impulsive buying decisions that they truly don't know any more about the 70k car they bought than the stuff they buy on Amazon. Probably a little of both. No offense to @brandonmcox but had you driven the vehicle or even sat in one before you purchased? I have a few full size trucks for my company and have to agree the storage they give you under those back seats is impressive but I've also owned SUVs my whole life and have never seen that feature in any of them. There's actually more storage in the LC250 than there was in my 4Runner because of the hybrid battery. Body on frame SUVs don't typically have under the floor storage like the unibody minivans do. The coolbox is definitely a gimmick but I assume you knew it was there before you signed the paperwork? Pretty sure you can disable the rear seatbelt chime in the software on the multimedia screen. People load up back seats with cargo all the time and Toyota has thought of that. Every OEM's machining capability are today what the european luxury OEMs were 20 years ago. With small displacement turbos and precisely machined components making their way into the general population, I would expect to see a lot more premium fuel requirements popping up in "standard" brands until they all get hydrogen figured out. Give the volume button a chance. The position grows on you and it keeps the passenger from screwing with it.

I’m real and squarely in the impulse purchase crowd. Sight unseen and delivered many times and I’m not usually disappointed. It’s always tough in forums for the specific vehicle, because car specific forums are filled with fanboys and you guys don’t wanna hear it. I’ll dial it back

Most of what you said is true and good point on the underseat storage in SUVs. Only thing you actually need the Carista diagnostic tool to disable the rear seat belts. They don’t give you that option

Here’s what my dealer recommended. That would work great between shuffling kids and dogs in the back seat 😂

There's this cool new invention, it's called a box. You can put it in the back or on the floor or on the seat next to you and you can put shit in it. They come in all sorts of sizes, they're really great 😒.

🤣 Like I said above. There’s another cool invention called a center console

Agreed the volume knob is odd, but otherwise, I really like the LC interior…and do not want anyone fired over it.
If you look at some of the foreign versions, the knob is in several different places, which I think is even more odd. I did not get the package with the coolbox because I wanted the extra storage…I was initially frustrated that I could not get the JBL without the coolbox, but then it turned out that I actually really like the non-JBL speaker sound quality (mid-grade LC LC).
Overall, more than enough storage for me.
