Exactly what "risk" do you think I'm taking? And why can't I use high quality oil AND a friction modifier?I wouldn't risk it. It's a new engine and shouldn't need such additives. Just use a high quality oil.

BITOG might be a better venue for that discussion, and you can go as deep as the rabbit hole goes.Exactly what "risk" do you think I'm taking? And why can't I use high quality oil AND a friction modifier?
An aftermarket intake would make more sound at higher rpm…that might drown out what you don’t like about the current sound, but almost certainly wouldn’t make it quieter.Anyone find the four cylinder engine to sound a bit annoying? Would a new air intake muffler it a bit?
Because high quality oils are carefully designed and tested, and almost all of them have some sort of friction modifier in them. Blindly adding friction modifiers like molybdenum might have a negative effect to the overall efficacy of the blend.Exactly what "risk" do you think I'm taking? I've noticed during cold weather the motor makes a loud 4 cylinder noise. It actually sounds cheap when it's real cold out. Also when the temp is below zero the electric motor doesn't perform as well. I really wish they would have stayed with six cylinder.Anyone find the four cylinder engine to sound a bit annoying? Yes I've forgotten to turn off the car because when it's on electric there is no sound. If I'm talking on the phone or doing something that distracts me, I will get out the car and literally forget that it's still on. They should have some reminder sound to inform you when the driver's door is open that the vehicle is still on.Mine is so quiet I sometimes forget to turn off the engine after parking. It is completely silent especially when backing in to the parking spot.
"Blindly adding"? Hilarious. Somebody needs to check his assumption meter before commenting on posts or at least ask questions for clarity instead of making blanket generic statements. At some point the driver has to be expected to be accountable for knowing the operating state their vehicle is in. Do we really need more warnings and alerts to make sure the driver remembers how to drive (and stop driving)?Yes I've forgotten to turn off the car because when it's on electric there is no sound. This should do it -I solved any noise issue by turning the radio volume up
