Disable auto start stop?

Being the first hybrid for me I’m truly surprised in a good way by the whole system. Now to be honest I came from an eleven year old Tacoma so I really can’t compare the two. Honestly I love this thing, completely satisfied with my purchase.

Do people spend this much without researching their purchase or test driving the vehicle?
I’m sure many do. Unfortunately it’s also possible to research & test drive, focusing only on some criteria, which ultimately leads to disappointment in the end when other important criteria aren’t satisfied. Hopefully at the end of the day OP gets used to the vehicle & satisfaction improves.

I was the first to drive mine, but the dealership let me put 15 miles on it before making the decision. I was expecting the hybrid system to be smoother, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
Yes, as regards a test drive. In this early point of a release, test drives are rare, or short. I did a great deal of research but there were no unsold rigs to drive. I did get to sit in one (LCLC Premo) and drive one a few miles (1958). You just don't know a vehicle for several hundred miles, if then.

I have an LCLC Premium. Around 500 miles so far. This does not feel like the drivetrain of a $70K vehicle. But what do I know? this is my first vehicle in that price range, and first hybrid. I expected a system more refined though, especially from Toyota. I, like another poster, am disappointed by this drivetrain so far.

The transmission does start to smooth out as the miles go up. Most hybrids use a E-CVT which has no gears thus making them smooth. Hopefully some updates come out in the near future to help refine the drivetrain.
