Hello,

My friend in Japan made this custom phone mount. I'm only importing the version that fits LHD vehicles. It has a standard 17mm ball so you can find tons of mounts on the market that will fit it. I've offered up one Magsafe mount but will be testing various charges and such. Wireless chargers tend to only get about 5W through the factory USB-C ports though.

Should start shipping late next week. Just wanted to post up for the forum people. Only have a small amount coming in for the first stock order.

I'll grab better photos when I get a few more minutes. Blends in really well with the interior.

You need to make it more affordable so, you can sell thousands instead of just a few. I think the price point is around $19.99-$24.99. Believe me I know prices and that is the going price for similar items. If you need to use less expensive materials to cut the costs of making it then do that but in terms of selling that is the key price point.

It's an imported product that's designed specific for the vehicle...the price doesn't surprise me

Since I have a 1958 with the smaller screen, I choose to just use a generic adhesive mount on the bezel, which is working great for me, but I'd definitely consider this if I was still looking for a solution, though I think I prefer the way I have mine mounted on far side of the infotainment screen vs the location of OP's mount, but I do like the way it fits.

Would love for it to be cheaper, but right now I'd be paying for you to buy it and paying a good bit at that price.

It was custom made, only fits this application, finish is great. I don't think any details were overlooked when it comes to design. The rubber gasket around the 17mm ball, the metal plate on top, and the fitment.

Goes back to that saying, "Quality, Speed, Price โ€“ pick two". This is my friend's company and he always produces the best products. I wouldn't dare rip off the design and send it to China, but if it was, you could trade off some of the quality for price. You can buy the right mount and never look for another phone mount again, or go through 2-3 mediocre ones until you find the one that has the least compromise :).

That design looks like it would experience a lot of surface friction.

Any concern it would leave a significant mark after use?

I was actually concerned when I first installed it since I was watching the RHD Japanese video. Wasn't 100% sure how to get it on with the tight tolerances. Also I don't think it had been test fit to a LHD vehicle yet. Pretty sure he just mirrored the design.

Made an install video though. It doesn't leave marks.

That's pretty slick!

Any pictures/video with a phone on it? It looks like the phone (in particular big ones) might cover up the volume knob or at least make access to it a little awkward? (and even worse with a dangling usb cable?)

I use the steering wheel volume unless I forget where it is for a second. My wife is the primary driver. I wish we had it in another location like the RHD models. It is possible to reach behind it if the USB cable is not installed.
