The trays are super easy to get in and out, no issues with getting to items below.

The best available solution was posted in another thread.. just requires you to find someone with a 3D printer. Found someone to print me one and it fits absolutely perfect!
They only had grey in stock that was suitable for being left in a hot car, but doesn't bother me.
