Can The New Toyota Land Cruiser’s Tiny Turbo Tow?

Page 456 in the owners manual seems to suggest that the brake type must be selected first in the settings? That seems to reset the gain to 0, which deactivates the trailer brake control… I don’t know, but maybe a gain of 5 can be set in the settings after setting the brake type and before attaching a trailer? It specifically says a gain of zero deactivates the output. Maybe it deactivates the controller totally?

I believe this Toyota video on the system in the Tundra is applicable to the Land Cruiser...

Anyone want to test to see if their brake controller has similar issues?
I had the same issue with the brake controller in my Tundra. You have to set up and enable the trailer in the vehicle settings first, which is not outlined in the manual. Massive oversight from Toyota

Thank you, good to know!!

I towed my overland trailer last weekend and I had to go in and turn on the trailer settings for the type of brakes and size of trailer I was towing.
