Automatic headlight sensitivity

I usually just leave my headlights in the auto position, but I recently noticed that unless I am in full sunlight, the headlights are turning on during mid-day, even when it is only partially overcast. I can tell they are on due to the little green light symbol on the dash that does not appear when just the daytime running lights are on.

Has anyone else noticed the sensitivity to be off for their auto lights or happen to know where the sensor is to detect the light level?

I recently had my windows tinted which might cause this issue, but i assumed the sensor was up in the rear view mirror/front camera mount at the top of the windshield which was not tinted.

Having the same issue from the first day of owning.
I've started a thread here: Automatic low beam
Not much response there.
I submitted but still very willing to solve the problem.
I believe the light sensor is located on the dashboard. Mine is clean and no obstacles...

Ahh i totally missed that thread, thanks!

I will play around with the sensitivity settings more, i didnt think to check down in the settings for that, thanks for the screen shot.

I'll do some testing to see if i can narrow down where the sensor is also, I suspect its the button near the middle of the dash. Mine is totally clean and no obstacles (other than the barely noticeable 70% ceramic tint)

So do you have 70 percent tint on the front windshield? You said the front wasnt tinted in the the first post but you mentioned clear 70 in the next. If you put tint on the front windshield even if its 70 it absolutely will change when the lights come on and go off. Carista allows you to change when the lights come on. There maybe and internal setting on the vehicle that allows it too but I haven’t checked because I have Carista. My windshield is tinted and I had to change the setting to delay when they come on.

sorry if i wasnt clear, i meant the windshield area in front of the rear view mounted instrument cluster was not tinted

Sensor is on the dash, passenger side. I can’t really help you with the sensitivity of it because I don’t use the auto function. If I had to guess tinting the windshield isn’t helping.
