Has anyone added a open and close kick sensor for the tail gate on the J250 Land Cruiser (PRADO)?
I know the Lexus GX550 Luxury + comes with it, so do some other Toyota models like Rav4, Highlander, Sienna

I am wondering what parts, wiring harness will I need to order and will it be a simple plug and play on the J250 Land Cruiser with these parts or will I need to splice into some wires?
Also I want the kick sensor to work for both opening as well as closing. (Reason I say that is, I looked at some after market one installation videos on Youtube and they worked for opening only)

Also would anybody have a :
1) parts diagram for the GX550 Kick Sensor parts and other components
2) wiring diagram for the Kick Sensor setup and Tailgate opener buttons (exterior one and inside one)

Appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Mobin

Each to their own but that “facility” is one I am very happy is not on the UK model - I have followed several folk with it on FFRRs and seen tailgates open with fully loaded vehicles crossing rivers and streams - not for me but good luck if you go that direction

I would love this is well. I use the rear hatch with my hands full multiple times a day and have to stretch to reach the close button

While I'm not going to add a "kick" sensor, I am going to add a second "open/close" button in the rear interior area for when I sleep in the back and need a button to open the glass hatch and a second button for opening/closing the hatch. I have ordered a button off FleeBay and we'll see. OBTW the button for the LC is the same as a Venza and several other models and those are almost half of what the LC button costs.

That's wild. Im surprised the trunk would even open when the car is in drive.

I like the idea of a "kick to open" trunk / hatch, however, I have never had it work effectively on my past vehicles that featured that option. Hence, I didn't use it.

Perhaps Toyota has designed this option to work reliably and effectively.
