Does anyone have pictures of the 285/70/r18 mounted in the spare location?

I have seen 275/70/r18 mounted it fits barely.

I have seen 285/75/r18 mounted and hangs down really low.

I am deciding between 285/70/18 and 275/70/18.

275/70/18 might be the largest size for decent spare location fit.

It will not fit, although one YT video jammed it in there and secured it without seating it fully up against the 'ceiling' (then bitched about how low the spare hangs down, if I recall). A 275/70R18 will (barely) fit.

[EDIT: I chose to roll the dice and put a 275 for spare... hopefully if I get a flat the 285s will be worn down enough that it won't matter]

Is there a youtube video of someone doing this? curious to know how feasible a 275 spare is with 285's on an AWD vehicle.

Here is the video of 285/75/18 these are bigger than 285/70 .. and they just ram the tire up there and doesnโ€™t seat all the way. What I am seeing is 275/70/18 is the biggest spare fully seated in the spare location without major modifications.

Running a 275 as a spare to a 285 set is an option but not ideal, but I am sure he knows the risks.

I meant someone driving on a 275 spare with all other tires at 285. if it is really ok to drive an AWD car for 10 or 20 miles like that to a tire shop that's what I might do. But I feel like that could bust the drive train.

The entire purpose of a differential is to allow each axle to turn at different speeds. Don't lock anything and keep speeds reasonable, and it will not harm anything.
