18" Tacoma TRD Wheels

How do you like these tires? I bought a set in 285/75/r18 and am having them and a Wescott lift put on the day my LC comes in.
So far so good, but I haven’t put many miles on them yet. I had E load Duratracs (pre-RT) on my my FJs and liked them.

Well, 5 of them arrived at my door yesterday. I got a terrific Black Friday/Weekend deal from Stevenson-Hendrick Toyota. $160 per wheel to my door. They already had a pretty good price, but discounted them further over the weekend and knocked $200 off shipping.

I’ve not decided yet whether to put TPSM sensors on these, or simply swap them off of my OEM tires (20” wheels w/Bridgestones).

And finally, I haven’t yet decided on tires. I’m paying close attention to what everybody is doing here.
I'm happy for you... but I hate you.

Just picked up my 25 premium in Heritage Blue and the 20" rims they force you into in the Mid-West are my only complaint.

The lowest I can find these for is $213 right now. So I guess it's time to save tons of bookmarks and stalk the pages like a hawk.

Check BAM.

BAM took my order late Feb then refunded me and said they would not have them for the foreseeable future.

I got 3 from Elmhurst but ultimately got my last 2 from Olathe last week - $213 as stated was what I paid.
The shipping is rough.

$213. With 5 in my cart it was only $46 shipping.

I managed to find a set of 5x 2000 mile First Edition wheels and Tires with TPMS sensors for $900 locally. So I'm going that route for the time being.

CAnnot, there's restocking fee. Not worth it. bought it about a month back. saving for tires.
Also, i messed up my back when moving the boxes to the garage, can't move anything right now LoL

I've been searching for these wheels from local dealers and all say they are unavailable to order. I assume that is because the port is snatching them up and installing on all the new 4runners coming in.

I have these wheels and will agree that the offset is perfect for the land cruiser. I ended up going with 285/70r18 ko3 tires and I absolutely love this setup. The stock lugs fit but I ended up ordering the black lugs and they look much better with those wheels.

The 285s with no lift look great!

On these wheels did the 285 fit under the truck? Can you possibly post a photo of it from behind?

285/70/18s will not fit under the truck as intended. It will sit at an angle or you will have to do some modifications.

How noisy are they?
AT tires do make a little road noise but they are not crazy loud like a mud tire. All terrain tires are usually in three categories, On Road All Terrain, Off Road All Terrain and Rugged All Terrain. If noise is an issue and you are not off roading frequently and just want something that can handle a fire road or light trail once in awhile you might check out the On Road All Terrain tires. I expect a little bit of road noise and depending on the tire tread most of the AT tires aren't that loud IMO.
However, tread pattern makes a huge difference. Look for something with a more varied and asymmetrical pattern not one with big blocks.

I have AT tires on my soon to be traded 2012 4runner Trail edition. In this vehicle they are loud (Falken Wildpeak A/T). I have read that some of the newer A/T maybe be a bit quieter and not hit the gas mileage as much.

I'll give a quick but more complete update since I've put about 1k miles on this wheel and tire combo now (265/70R18 SL Duratrac RT). MPG is the same or maybe even slightly better (at the 0.5MPG level) than the 20" wheels with (relatively light) winter tires I was running before. Overall MPG in the 1K which included driving over mountains a few times is about 22 MPG. They make more noise than winter tires but not nearly as much noise as my E load Duratracs (pre-RT) on my FJ Cruiser. I don't know how much of that is the vehicle, the SL vs. E load, or the slightly more road oriented tread of the RT vs. the older Duratrac. The older Duratracs have a reputation for getting louder with age as well. We did a fair amount of off road driving with them on gravel and rocky roads (some with a lot of annoying smallish sharp rocks) and sand and they've held up fine so far.

An aside, the vehicle really feels like an upgrade from the FJ, certainly on road but also off-road. The manual (full time 4WD) FJ was certainly a capable machine, the Land Cruiser is just effortless offroad though. I guess it's all the new tech? There's a mode for everything. I do hear a lot of brush on the skid plates though, I wish it was a couple inches taller. But for now the skid plates are doing their job.
