I thought that was the regenerative braking kicking in? I really don't like the way mine drives between 0-30 mph. Accelerating from a stop it feels like a CVT. Coasting to a stop works until about 12 mph then the regenerative braking kicks in and slows you abruptly, until you hit about 5 mph...
Nice suggestions but I’d settle for a direct feedback line to the “engineers” responsible for Front Cross Traffic Alert. Walk away locking would be my biggest ask on that list. The foot to open rear hatch feature has made me look like a fool on 4 successive vehicles, so no thanks.
These work great, but I’m comparing with my X7 M60 which has the absolute worst ventilated seats that suck air instead of blowing air, just ridiculous German nonsense with like 4 or 5 speeds of sucking so maybe the LC is just great by comparison.
I’m still getting used to the regen “engine braking,” it seems rough because as you coast down from 45 MPHish you get lots of regen, then it abruptly stops regenerating when you get down to about 10 MPH, and you have to take over braking from there or else it freaks that you’re going to hit the...
Update. The FCTA reverts to On every time the car is started. I did turn down the sensitivity and that setting persists and is less annoying. The Break Suggestion is another setting that reverts to On every time as well.
I think you’re onto something re: Item 1. I had set up Digital Key and kept getting the message about another key being registered, then recently I noticed Digital Key was no longer set up so I had to delete and reinstall the app to get that to work, signing in with both email and phone number...
The FCTA is the absolute worst nanny I’ve ever experienced. It’s just a total Captain Obvious alert that will never save me from anything and I’d like to permanently disable it since it likes to revert to on every time the car is started. Anyone able to disable it with Carista?
Used BMWs have eroded more personal net worth than all stock market crashes combined. I have an X7 M60i that I bought new last year and while it is fast and has cool (fake) engine noise, I've already had more unexpected trips to the dealer for stuff they usually can't fix in 1 year than I've...
So glad this forum exists after trying to make it work in the FB Group. So many trolls just there to complain about what the new LC could have been, whine about not getting the 300 series, etc.
I agree it's a little rougher at low speed, but having now driven mine over several interstate freeway mountain passes in the PNW I was impressed with how potent, quiet, and smooth it is at speed. I expected some degree of 4 cyl coarseness, and found none of that thrashing I expected going up...
I would imagine the app will be updated so you don't have to have it open for the digital key to work, my BMW has been that way from the beginning. The catch with the BMW app is it works about 98% of the time, so I really couldn't recommend leaving key at home anyway. Don't ask about those 2%...
Just another data point…my FE has been at PDX since 4/22, has had the “Contact Dealer for Availability” for at least the last month after dates dropped off; just today dates came back 6/29 - 7/8 so that is the first positive thing for me with this in months.
It’s not an issue for me. It’s a Toyota and under warranty.
No, unfortunately it does not geolocate, it probably does that once you activate Connected Services at the dealer at time of purchase.
I see mention in the GX forum of having to drop the headliner to make the repair. I’m not sure I’m ok with that, in my experience those plastic clips really only seat 100% perfectly on the first use, but at a minimum would carefully inspect this upon eventual arrival.
Mine says “Vehicle may be in transit. Contact dealer to confirm availability date.” It arrived in Portland 4/22. The date then dropped. Not sure if date will reappear when it’s moving again, but at this point I just expect a random text from the dealer sometime in July to let me know it has arrived.
That was my post, I am waiting for an RK FE in TD. My dates dropped out in SmartPath. Dealer doesn’t know about any QC hold, just said they received their first two units so he expects it soon. He’s selling at TSRP so not pushing too much.
