I hear ya! I've thought about posting a thread titled "Doomscrolling". I had one minor issue with my LC/LC (warning light) on the first day of ownership but it's been flawless ever since. I've concluded that following all of the "problem threads" really hampers my enjoyment of a spectacular...
I usually name my adventure vehicles. The LC has been christened "the Ogre" because it's a beast (already used that one on an earlier apocalypse 4x4 Sportsmobile van) and the Trail Dust color is so similar to a 1970's color called "Ochre".
pdizzie...totally agree with your assessment as I also sold a '21 4runner ted pro to get the LC.
Since I"m only on gravel/dirt/offroad 4-5 X per month, I love the LC's on-road manners. And, since I pull a trailer for some of my BLM/Forest Service adventures, I won't miss the 4Runner's 5-speed...
I picked up my Trail Dust LC trim level on Saturday in Las Vegas, then drove the 190 miles home to Cedar City. Without a gauge reset to wipe out all of the time the LC was running at the port and dealership, I got 19.4 MPG for that first tank.
This morning, after resetting the gauge, I took it...
Miraculously, the "Hybrid System Failure" / "Drive/Start System Failure" messages disappeared overnight and everybody's happy again. I still plan to take it to my local dealer for a quick checkup.
Wow...what an amazing "take delivery" journey! Here goes...
I put down deposits at 2 dealerships in northern Utah in early March. Both were for Trail Dust LC trim level with as few options as possible (to leave room for me to make some modifications). One dealer, charging MRSP, had me at #125...
I picked up my LC (LC trim w/o premium package) yesterday and got the same error message today after less than 200 miles. It's running fine and I love it but I plan to get it down to the dealership (50 miles away) ASAP. I considered taking it to my local mechanic to get the codes read and reset...
Hump77, that looks awesome! I just got my allocation for a Heritage Blue LC trim set to arrive mid-August - early September and am trying to figure out wheels and tires. Can you send pictures from directly in front and behind? That'll give me an idea of how yours differ from stock. Thanks!
Your photos cemented my preference for Trail Dust over Heritage Blue or Meteor Shower. Like others, you have exactly the configuration I want. Great to see those rectangular headlights after so many of the "others".
I have no idea when I'll get a call from my dealer but suspect it'll be...
FJ432...thanks for the questions as they help me clarify my driving experience. In response to your insightful list:
1. Based on on-line reviews I was mentally prepared for how responsive the drivetrain would be. The LC accelerated easily and I actually kind of liked the exhaust note (remember...
So...Nuke, does your handle suggest that you work at "the site"?? My wife was born and raised in Rexburg and her now 99-year old father used to work at Stone's. We bought a '97 RAV4 there from Jason. He's probably old and gray by now. We lived there from 92-99.
Anyway, I totally agree that...
While visiting my wife's family 500 miles from my home, I discovered that the dealer in Idaho Falls had a 1958 they'd let me test drive for 15 minutes! I think the test drive was my reward for hauling her all that way!
My current vehicle is a 2021 4Runner TRD Pro plus I've had 2 previous...
I just got back from visiting family in Idaho (I live in southern Utah) and dropped by Teton Toyota in Idaho Falls. They have a black 1958 available on the lot, which I test drove (and loved!!) It has about $6k of modifications (leveling, tinting, steps, custom wheels and tires, PPF) for a...
I've bounced back and forth on the GX vs LC question but keep coming back to the LC. It's not a slam dunk...more like a 60-40 in favor of LC. Why?
The nearest Lexus dealership is 200 miles away - if one was nearby it'd be 50-50 despite the below-listed reasons
The Lexus Overtrail is beyond my...
I liked Trail Dust until I remembered my Dad's old 1972 Chevy pickup in a similar color (GM called it "ochre")! I was never fond of it then but maybe my tastes have changed? My 2nd choice is probably Heritage Blue.
While hiking on Saturday, I was day dreaming about my future Trail Dust LC when I suddenly remembered a similar colored vehicle back in the early 1970s. The color was called "ochre" and was featured on General Motors pickup trucks. I really didn't like it then so wonder if I'll really be happy...
